I've got this message after creating the thumbnails:

The thumbnail is created correctly.

wordpress 3.1.3 - select medium image then click edit. I make the selection for the thumb then click SAVE but nothing happens. No errors message, nothing. Page just remains the same. Tried in multiple browsers but same result. Is this a known issue? Works perfect if I select thumbnail.

I just tested plugin.
Step 1
It took me several minutes to get started. I didn't know what to do. There is a free space below the image on the left. I moved instructions and select there.

Step 2
I didn't get new image preview, I had to take chance and click OK

Step 3
I finished editing one thumbnail but it says "start over" - start over with the same image or...
Maybe write something else.

Hi, its Contact Form that causes problems, and Post thumbnail editor not working (progress bar after editor window opens is going eternaly)..

You have a great plugin and i would like to buy a licence, but it should work with contact form. Do you work on a solution?

This error appears when you click the 'Save' button as an alert from jQuery.
Is not constant in all the servers I've tested.

I'm in Wordpress 3.2.
PHP 5+

The server that doesn't work have this config on the GD library.

this plugin works great in Chrome, but when using Safari there are various bugs & eventually the entire browser hangs & needs to be restarted. here are some details:

When in the thumbnail-dragging interface, i can drag a square but i can't resize it or move it ... and then it seems like at some point after i drag that square, my clicks start to go missing. if i keep at it, the browser will hang.

also, when pressing the "edit thumbnail" button inside the interface for a photo gallery on a post, the pane with the thumbnail editor sometimes doesn't appear at all. i saw that in safari 5.0.3 but maybe it's fixed with 5.0.5 ... otherwise it's intermittent in some weird way.

what JS framework is this written in?

When I try to edit the thumbnail, the cropping rectangle is totally free-form. It does not constrain itself to the proper ratio for the selected thumbnail size. I only have one thumbnail size selected. Thanks.

It looks like I'm the only on experiencing this so far. I am unable to reach the actually editing portion of the plugin because the loader never goes away. Small screenshot of the loader: http://grab.by/bfTq so that you know what I'm referring to.

I thought it might have been due to the fact that I have htaccess set up for using a login/password to access the site (since it's currently in development), but I tried disabling that and I'm still getting the problem.

The particular server that this website is on requires you enter your FTP information when updating plugins, could there be a problem there?

The uploads folder is completely writable (777) so I can't see that being an issue either.

Any help would be appreciated! If you need any more info, please let me know.

Disable the confirmation button if no images are selected. Also, if somehow a submission is made with no images selected, use an alert box to notify the user that nothing is selected.

Have to crop and cancel for the "crop" setting to be respected.

Useful for when images have been hard-coded into posts. That or provide code / options to search through posts for the information that you're changing and update it. (e.g. url, width, or height)

I posted this to the support page on wordpress.org but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post here as well.

When I go to crop, the image above the Create Thumbnails button does not show the full image available. The croppable area is actually a cropped version of the original file.

In the image sizes on the right that match the original image's aspect ratio, I can see that there is much more to the original image than what the croppable area is telling me.

Even for vertical images, the croppable area remains in the same almost-square shape and size for every image no matter what its proportions are.

I've disabled all plugins to test for any conflicts but there were none — the problem still happens.

i dont know if its possible to fix, but when i create a new post, attach featured image and then change dimensions of that image
(For example my-custom-image '500', '9999') it will change the filename of that image but wont update featured image url and therefor i have broken link to that image on frontend.

when i do this process backwards (first crop, then set as featured) it works ok.

What do you think?

I can´t get it to work in Internet Explorer. That´s a shame, cause the plugin is almost magical. :)

When you have you post thumbnail size set to crop, your plugin actually allows me to resize the frame, that actually defines the crop area, proportionally, which is great. But it would be even better, when this little fram would turn green once the amount of pixels inside the frame is higher than the amount of pixels you need for a non-stretched image in that postthumbnail size.

Example: Let's say my postthumbnail size is called "small-tile" and has a size of 100x200 pixels with cropped enabled.

Now I can change the crop area, but I don't actually see when I have at least 100x200, so I could end up with a 50x100 area selected which means the image is getting scaled up and so loses quality.

If you could just add this little feature the frame would turn green once you reach at least 100x200 and then stays green. So if you resize the cropping-frame to 50x100 it would stay white and if you resize it to 100x200 or above it would turn green and stay green, because this indicates that the image area that we are about to crop is actually big enough for the system so that it doesn't have to stretch the image.

Maybe you can also add a field that shows the actual size of the selected area. If it is too hard to turn the cropping frame green you can also just color these fields green once you reach at least the size of the actual thumbnailsize you are working on.

Need an option to allow disabling of thickbox.

Running WordPress 3.2.1, and PTE 1.0.4. Tried deactivating all other plugins and using default theme.

Thickbox shows up. You are allowed to select images, draw crop box, and select continue. Progress bar is shown and then nothing happens.

An image is created in ptetmp that reflects the desired change, but step 2 is not displayed nor is it moved to the uploads folder to replace the image.

Ran tests in debug, it advanced to step 2, but I had errors output as well as console errors. You can find them linked below.

Found your Wordpress plug-in today. It's exactly what I was looking for. I did all my thumbnails (crop) and it came out perfect. When I did a Regenerate all the thumbnails, all the images went back to its original state. Is there a way to keep the thumbnails in the post mode. I'm using the Arras Theme.

When i import any size image into my wordpress site's media library, the thumbnail size is automatically cropped in a bad way (both the top, and the sides of the image). going into Post Thumbnail editor and saving my changes is not making any difference to the way the thumbnail ends up being cropped, and often won't even let me crop it the way i'd like to. HELP!!!!

I have had a bit of problems with the plugin while using it on a site with origin-pull cdn. The generated thumb file name remaining the same as the original, it did not get pulled by the CDN nodes, and instead the old one was still being served. So I looked into the way WP does for the edited images and I am suggesting this small change: adding a suffix to the image or perhaps adding a timestamp.

Hello, for my blog, I've got 3 different thumbnail sizes but with the same 1:1 scale. It could be nice if I could edit all these sizes in one pass as I will get exactly the same preview for the 3.

I'm trying to find the error, but on my server is not working properly.

The Crop works perfectly in the directory ptemp, the image is saved and cropped there OK. But when what should replace the file on directory of the WordPress uploads it just does not happen.

I noticed that the error must be on action taken by the admin-ajax.php native WordPress.

For Firebug, I also discovered that the date is coming empty on ajax.

Allow users to add custom aspect ratios for their image sizes.

Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to create thumbnails that show the full image of the original, but contained in a square with a border.

For example a 200x200 thumbnail of a 950x300 image, would be shrunk to 200x63 then a border above and below of 68(and 69).

This would allow the full image to be viewed and fit in a simple thumbnail layout page.

Can it be done, is it simple and I missed it?

When activating the two, the image used to recrop does not show.

• Add a way to download/view the page log files to send to me....
• Post to a pastebin....
• Use jquery AJAX methods to capture the POST/GET variables
• Standardize the log output (date/time) - Parseability....

Images don't really need aspect ratios at all... Just use the center position of the selected part of the image and extrapolate from there...

your plugin is allready a killer feature. But if it will work with NextGen gallery it would be even more useful. Because a lot of user wich are dealing with pictures are switching to nextgen because mediathek is too clumsy. Maybe it is not that hard to adapt it to nextGen. Then its possible to spread it in the forums to all the "different thumbnail size" - threads to get it tried and famous.

I really trust in you. Maybe I will help, if I find some time...

Verify/resolve any issues with WP_DEBUG setting as TRUE.

From nickysgaypattaya: The latest version of Plugin: Post Thumbnail Editor 1.0.2 has a fault in it. When amending the thumbnail, the plugin skips from step 1 where you select the image rapidly past step 2 and ends in a blank white screen. Because it does not stop at step 2 there is no possibilty of selecting "OK these look good".

Me: I was able to get a screenshot of it to even know what was wrong. (Hadn't used the 1.0.0)

Plugin works perfectly except I have an issue. It creates the thumbnail in uploads perfectlyt! But I have no way of selecting that image to insert it into a post, the media gallery continues to show the original image with the original thumbnail sizes.

This may be my lack of WP knowledge. How do I insert the cropped image into a post?

I uploaded your plug in but whenever I attempt to modify any images at all, I simply get the greyed out screen with the loader bar infinitely loading and never allowing me to manipulate the thumbnails whatsoever.

Fix images that don't have a crop setting to not be constrained by aspect ratio (The default wordpress settings are not cropped to the exact dimensions of the image size.) Currently this plugin will constrain the aspect ration to the exact dimensions for all images...

For all images that have been modified by this plugin, regenerate them (could fix wordpress errors)

I've encounter trouble using your excelent pte and the wpml Translation Management plugin.

If the wpml plugin is disabled pte works perfectly.
If the wpml plugin is active, the plugin seems loading infinitly.
All the images seems to be there but they are covered by the loader.

Any thoughts ?

On wordpress 3.3.

I'm working with taxonomies on Wordpress 3.2.1. The plugin works fine creating thumbnails when I select create all thumbnails at one time. But I need the full size image to be in different size and when I attempt to set so, the plugin creates what I want but wordpress displays all centered images in the frontend as if the plugin wasn't there. Maybe it's theme related issue.I tried different configurations and order of thumbs creating without effect.
