Don't assume mpc will reach the mpd server on localhost, but instead let the user specify a destination hostname.

Run the hooks to mute mpd right before mpv starts playing.
Maybe we can use the mpv unix socket api for this.

Currently, mpd is paused a few seconds before mpv actually starts playing because of connecting, caching, ...

Instead of sending an URL to remote media, it would be nice to be able to directly send the media via a socket to the videoscreen

It would be nice to support audio playback without playing video. This would make sense for environments where no X server is installed.

Currently, if a connection to the socket does not send a \n, the recv waits and blocks all other clients.

Don't always start playing mpd when the url has played in mpv. Query the current state and apply it afterwards.
