Hi, Shiran from China here!
Who I am
I was born in 2007, which makes me currently (as of 2023) 16 years old. I'm a junior student at Duke Kunshan University (yes, I entered university at 13 years old), working towards a Dual Degree from Duke University and DKU. I'm actively trying to secure a Ph.D. student position.
Stuff I like
My interests are diverse but I mainly do Machine Learning and Computer Vision. My current specific experience include Matrix/Tensor Decomposition and Neural Implicit Representations. My hobbies include chess, reading, and coding for fun.
Work I did
- In 2022 I devised a new framework for tensor completion. I conceived and carried out the work independently, and received help from Prof. Kaizhu Huang at DKU for writing the paper and improving my work. The paper is currently under review for AAAI 2024 (passed Phase I).
- In 2023 I became an intern at AIR (Institute for AI Industry Research), Tsinghua. With guidance and help from Prof. Hao Zhao and other members of Discover Lab, I researched NeRFs. We created SlimmeRF, a hybrid NeRF that supports slimmability: test-time tradeoffs between model size and quality. The paper was ACCEPTED by 3DV 2024 as an ORAL PRESENTATION! See you in Davos!
- I am currently continuing to work with AIR, mainly in the direction of applying Neural Implicit Representations to science and creating NeRF models.
