When this option is set to true, unsaved attributes will not be overwritten by attrs passed to #set().

When there are no changes, no xhr is dispatched. The xhr object is the usual return value of the #save function and code may rely on that, e.g., for attaching promises. Such code will break, when there is nothing to save.

I see two possible solutions:

• Do not prevent the xhr even if there are no changes to be saved.
• Return a mock object for the xhr object and call the success promise.
