postloader's Issues

Sounds and music

I suggest to add some background music and sound effects when hovering/opening
inside the menu.

This was the first thing i noticed when using postloader, the loader is amazing
and is made my default menu/game loader menu but, it has no sounds or music,
making it very dull over time.

So if not planned, please add it :3 and to make it even better, make it
customizeable, being able to stop/enable the music/sounds or customize what
plays inside a config.

postloader.dol

What steps will reproduce the problem?
readmii tells extensively about a postloader.dol but there is no such file
anymore in postloader.zip. So it is confusing.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In my case, I wanted to make priiloader on (uneek) emulated nand launch
postloader.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
postloader.3.48.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Kudo for postloader ! Great wiiware !

No AHPBROT in Postloader

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. set priiloader to boot priibootergui.dol
2. list of apps in priiloader does not show priibootergui as having AHBPROT
available
3. turn on wii, priibootergui loads, postloader loads, run cleanrip and it
reports no AHBPROT

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Be able to rip discs with Cleanrip using AHBPROT
See the priibootergui dol listed as having AHBPROT available in priiloader

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
priiloader 0.8, postloader 3.5.8.1, priibootergui 1.0

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm assuming this is a postloader thing ONLY because priiloader reports no
AHBPROT available...

postloader corrupts when ending a wii-game

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start postloader in emunand with neek2obooter.app
2. Start a Wii-game through postloader
3. Press Home to switch back to Wii-Menu, or power off

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
postloader or system menu should boot up again, instead it gives an
exception-error. postloader shows even after a restart still the code dump
while booting up, can't start postloader anymore. You have to delete the
ploader-folder from the SD to get it back working. Maybe one of the
config-files get corrupted?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
4.1.1, neek2o rev.95, 4.3E

Please provide any additional information below.

Categories and sorting

I haz more suggest! For all loader menu's, i think it would be really useful to
add categories and sorting, not just for only homebrew or
wii games.

I came up with this when sorting homebrew or channels(using vote), when sorting
them, i found it a real pity i could not sort them in a nice layout like for
example http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Categorii does :/.

Yes, i know, i can create folders inside the apps folder, but then it would be
incombitable with soooo many apps, instead of having a categorie button,
handled using configs.

Most homebrew crash with a DSI+no-reload

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run any homebrew app(Thatotherdev homebrew for example)
2. Exit back
3. Boom! DSI error :P

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should exit fine, using a return from channel method, instead most crash
with DSI+no-reload or do not return directly to postloader(via system menu to
priiloader to postloader)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

Some emulators show autoupdate

On the modded emulators, snes9gx, Vbagx, Fceugx, they still show the autoupdate
implented in the original.

It is a bit of a annonyance because it is not only useless(as the emulator is modded), but it also shows up everytime i start a new game having to click it away, like with a popup ad :P.

So if your not yet planning this, remove that function please :3.

sneeky apps

I would like to see Postloader be able to run \apps\ that are inaccessible to
hbc.

sd:\sneek\apps\alpha-test\boot.dol

This would add a layer of protection against someone running unsafe homebrew on
the real nand.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Rebuild game list (DML)

3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
DO NOT to delete games (They play fine)
Games are deleted from SD unnecessarily.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.69.5 (earlier version also, I upgraded thinking this was a bug)

Please provide any additional information below.
discex -c was used, so I don't know what the problem here is.
It's only been deleting these 2 games.

"Folder 'sd://games/GLME01' removed as it has the wrong size"

Multiple autoboot of apps/games based on button held down.

I would like to see an autoboot mode where you can specify which app or game to
boot based on which buttons are held down on the wiimote/gc controller while
booting. As an example, set it to boot to the system menu as normal if nothing
is pressed but boot to cfgloader if B is held down and the homebrew channel if
Z or 1 is held down.

Show wiimote battery status

I suggest to add a battery status of the wiimote to postloader, it can be a
pain having to figure out if it is full or almost out.

While your at it, also make it warn if the wiimote is at for example, 10-30% so
folks know when they need to stop when they are hypnotized in the wii :P.

And as usual, make it customizeable for folks, so they can change its position,
or add a sound when warning, or change the text/image.

Load postloader data into memory

I suggest to make postloader and it's data (theme, settings, etc) load into

Reason: Whenever someone takes out the SD card, postloader freezes, because it

Online titles.txt and wiitdb.zip download

My suggestion is to make a feature so a user can download titles.txt and
wiitdb.zip on the fly using a download button.

This is convenient for anyone and nearly any usbloader has such a feature, so
why Postloader not :?.

Btw, not sure if Postloader uses it, but try make it use the Wiitdb database,
this way it can automaticly sort wii titles in there categories, action titles
in action titles, sport in sport, etc.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

2. When I enter Postloader, there's always a black rectangle at the bottom.
Also wiimote pointer can't go in this rectangle.
3. Size of the rectangle is 2 inches high and screen width.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It seems as if Postloader display uses a subpart of the physical display since
display and wiimote pointer are restricted.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Exit menu problem

There is a bit of a annonyance in the loader, folks can launch the wii menu or

So if you want to do it, or make it customizeable with a option/config, or make

Neekbooter blackscreens if no postloader found

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Remove all signs of postloader(usb/sd/apps/postloader, usb/sd/postloader)
2. Load neekbooter directly or using the Channel plforwarder.4.wad

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Postloader should load what is in boot.dol/elf, as seen in the source code
neekbooter/source/main.c (which is bad practice actually), instead blackscreens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I do not know the version of neekbooter, but it should be the same as inside

Wii64 has no snapshot

As i see in my testing, the wii64 inside the emu_plugins_2.zip has no ability
to make snapshots of the gameplay, unlike the rest.

Because this one is a mod of the original, having a autoload of games that is

If you do, you will have made so many people happy, a placement for the button
can be inside "Current Rom" menu next to "Save State".

Call of Duty MW3 doesn't load correctly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
from postloader Games menu load CoD MW3

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: past the 2nd screen with instructions for nunchacku I see in the
lower left corner "Caricamento..." then the MW3 logo, and the game will load
correctly.

Instead: past the 2nd screen with instructions for nunchacku I see in the lower

but the game is not in hang, in fact if I press red button on wiimote, the wii

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I use postloader 3.57.5 from neek2o, emu nand 4.3e

Please provide any additional information below.

Customizeable "taskbar":P

I have another suggestion, can you make the "taskbar", where the exit button,
config, etc is, customizeable?

It would be much better for most likely, everyone, instead of a set homebrew
that will only show up if it exists.

If your gonna do that, try to make it possible to be done or ingame inside the
B button menu, or by drag drop functionality(like windows 7 superbar), or
inside a config.

Move config files to ploader/config/

I noticed a while that there is a folder called config, i think it would be

Right now it is unused, so why not use it P: now? Or if your planning to do it

1. install d2x-v9-beta(r49) as 246,247,248,249,250,251,...
2. boot postloader 1st time ok; everything operates normally.
3. enhance compatibility with a number of games by going to advanced and
selecting load cios at boot, exit the screen (just restarting seems to revert
the setting?...) then restart.
4. on boot with usb and sd drive plugged in like normal the system fully
freezes. Until you remove the usb at boot.

This problem can be replicated on many systems.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
normal boot operation

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
postloader.4.b34.zip postloader.4.b32.zip , ... as far back as the release of
d2x-v9

Please provide any additional information below.
I have attempted reverting back tp d2x-v8 and everything is fine in this
condition. I also find it strange how I am the first or at least can't seem to
find any information on this.
