homebridge-onkyo's Issues

can't install plugin

Hi, I cannot install the plugin (not 0.7.0 nor 0.6.5). "This is related to npm not being able to find a file." Am I doing something wrong?

Change name for installation

You can change the name for install? Because “sudo npm install -g homebridge-onkyo” not install your homebridge-onkyo. Maybe you can change to homebridge-onkyo2?

question

before the was Version 0.7.1 now showing Version 0.7.0?

TV input

Hello,

I have a TX-NR575E and works great if I add TX-NR609 in the config. The only thing I'm missing is to select 'TV' input. I tried different models in config but had no luck.

Is it possible to set TV input in this plugin ?
Thanks in advance,

Merge back (ToddGreenfield & SoloWalker) projects into ToddGreenfield as looks like Todd is now actively maintaining original codebase (will cross post)

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Thanks for all your work on this. I moved to SoloWalker's plugin given issue with the Todd Greenfield's plugin on my Onkyo and to gain support for Platform.

Looks like Todd is now actively mantaining his original plugin that was forks (though seems he implemented the Platform definition slightly differently).

Request to have all changes made in SoloWalker fork integrated into the mainline codebase this unifying the root. This will allow SoloWalker to continue if he wishes to in the future push out any updates and if not at least the work done will not be lost and those of us who have been using and testing it can switch over to Todd's plug in with minimal disruption (at the moment since he published privately I unfortunately still see Todd's plugin as my installed plugin with he most recent update now as an available update via HomeBridgeUI/NPM.

Thanks both for all the great work! And as a former Apple Engineer please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Regards,
Tom

Changing the listening mode

Hi solowalker27
hope you are doing well.
I was wondering if you could create a plug in that can help to change the listening modes of the receiver.
that would really complement the volume and the input.

I have the onkyo app in the iPhone and through the network those commands are sent to the receiver... because I can change them.

Any idea ?
Thanks a lot,

last update not working

I just update to the latest update and now Homebridge not starting.

Error: The requested platform 'Onkyo' was not registered by any plugin.

Input "phono" is valid for model but not appearing in Home

I'm using the latest version 0.7.2 with a Onkyo NR809 and I'm having a problem with the phono input.

Here's the log when the input is selected on the receiver itself.

[12/14/2019, 5:06:11 PM] [Onkyo] Event - System Power changed: on
[12/14/2019, 5:06:12 PM] [Onkyo] Event - Input changed: phono

I tried adding it in the list of inputs but it doesn't appear. I tried without a list of inputs and I don't see it there either.

Is there something I can do to debug this?

Thanks!

Onkyo status

Thanks again for your effort implemented platform! Great!

But Onkyo & its Volume not reflect real status. I have a smart plug controls TV and Onkyo,

  • while the plug is off, homebridge keep on log errors:
    [Onkyo] eventError: ERROR (server_error) Server error on xxx:xxx - Error: connect EHOSTUNREACH xxx:xxx
    would be nice to (like my Samsung TV) show as off and stop error log;
  • Within iPhone Home, "Onkyo" is grey but its "Volume" is light up, which should also be grey(=off); In fact, "Volume" seems always light-up?
  • would it be possible to use MAC only instead of IP address, because its DHCP could assign a new IP, which makes onkyo not reachable.

adding inputs

@solowalker27, I think it is better to follow-up the discussion here.

  • Your git cannot be found at ui-x under onkyo, so I installed manually:
    sudo npm install -g https://github.com/solowalker27/homebridge-onkyo.git
    but ui-x still shows coming from @todd with the version of v0.7.1
  • Your platform w. your sample config is working(e.g. on/off) with high potentials;
  • Still inputs still not working for my TX-NR636, I tried "dvr" or "CBL/SAT" etc, not showup;
  • "volume_dimmer" is working as loudness, but HomeKit shows as "brightness";

In general, where to find the KEYS/switches/commands/ etc. it seems "node 3.js" only output generic names... right?
