Anime News Network Data Client

This is a PHP client wrapper for the Anime News Network data API. If you are interested in contributing back to this project, feel free to read the Contributing documentation below.

NOTE: When using this client to retrieve data, you must still abide by the ANN API terms of service:

When using this API to display information on a public website, you must list Anime News Network as the source of the data and link to Anime News Network on every page that incorporates data from the API.

Detecting API Errors

Unfortunately, the ANN API does not return a non 200 HTTP response code for an invalid / not found ID. To check for an error, look for a warning key in the result array.

None at this time.

Address PHP 7.0 deprecation. Add PHP 7.3 support

Update composer.json to require 7.1 or higher.
Update Travis config (or switch to CircleCI) to use 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 as test environments.

Does the API allow you to query people?

The API lets you look up anime and manga, but does it allow you to look up a person and see the works they've contributed to? E.g., https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=50324&lookup=source suggests that the person's ID is 50324 but neither of these API links work:

and I'm wondering if you know if/how to access this information? Thanks!

How to retrieve the anime ratings with the API?

Hi!
I need to retrieve the rating (and maybe the number of voters) of an anime entry from the AnimeNewsNetwork Encyclopedia. But I cannot find the documentation on how to do that with the API.
I'm writing an addon for a certain popular media center that displays the rating of each anime from ANN. Currently it takes the rating score from IMDB like it does for movies, but for anime IMDB ratings are totally unreliable. For anime the ANN ratings are the most trustworthy on the web (thanks to the voters, a great community of historical users!), but I cannot find a way to query those from the ANN Encyclopedia API.

Can anybody help me with that? thanks.
