Loved brushes but changed my iPad and have had to upgrade brushes. I'm sure it's great but the brush marks are clear in the centre with zig zags around the outside. Help, I'm an artist and depend on my iPad and brushes...

Seems to work ok on the iPhone/iOS7, and in previous OS versions.

I recently wanted to work on one of the digital paintings created through the Brushes app on my iPhone 5s and for each previously created painting the message dialog appears, "Could Not Open Painting","There was a problem opening ". As well, the app initially allows me to create a new painting and use the brush tools etc., but that newly created painting cannot be accessed either similar to the previous ones.

Please contact me with an update as to when a fix for this app will be released. Thank You.

In Brushes on iPad, is it possible to switch off the multi-gesture feature?
When he uses his finger to draw, he can not avoid the bottom of his hand touching the screen - and then it moves to zoom mode and I must intervene.

I was exploring it, and i wanted to create a folder system for each draw i saved without the WDPaintingFileExtension extension (save and load from specific folder), but i don't know to remove the extension so the app works, can you help me?

Also, when creating a new draw, use a folder in temporary and when i save the draw, move it to documents..

The brushes redux app was working fine til the update to IOS 17, the layer settings don’t show the old list of commands , only 2 come up FILL LAYER and CLEAR LAYER. Transform, flip horizontal, vertical etc all gone , they reappear if you close the painting and reopen it, but only use it once then it disappears again. Such a shame it was such a good app to use, so intuitive, now it’s clunky.

Export at higher resolution is not possible. Using Brushes Redux 3 on ipad2 and viewer 1.3.5 on mac high sierra. Messages: "viewer 32-bits is not compatible with macOS High Sierra 64-bits technology." And: "Brushes Viewer can't be updated when it's running from a read-only volume like a disk image or an optical drive. Move Brushes Viewer to your Applications folder, relaunch it from there, and try again." But it is already in the App folder, and relaunched. And: "Document could not be opened." Viewer can only open the included samples. Also, the older version v1 of the viewer offered on your site is actually the later version. In short, no useful export is possible. Please help.

Since upgrading to IOS8.02 I cannot open or create any brushes files. Please update me on likely fixes

I've been using this app for quite a while now. However, with the recent iOS 8 update, the app lost its functionality. I'm can no longer access my old painting and worse can't share it via email or dropbox for backup. Hence, kindly roll out the iOS 8 update as soon as possible for us to have our old work recovered.

Hi, I recently got a new phone and have downloaded the app on it but i can't get any of my old pictures on it. Any ideas how to retrieve them (i accidentally deleted the app on my old phone and the pictures have gone on that too)

When attempting to play a recording of the painting of an extremely large and long image, app crashes at the hit of the play button

I would like to download and share a copy of the Brushes for ipad/iphone version 2.2.3 as it has been withdrawn from the App store . Is this possible and if I want multiple copies is there a fee?

A couple of things I've noticed about the App Store page:

1.) Even though in-apps have been removed from the app, they're still showing as "offers in app purchases" on the App Store

2.) In the description the last line gives credit to a screenshot that no longer seems to exists (Portrait of Ally vs an apple, unless the apple is Ally)

Hi - I am a professional artist and have been a paid user of every brushes program including the first for iPhone, the iPad v2 and Brushes 3 (with in-app layers purchase). I have bought and tried out numerous other ipad painting programs but always come back to Brushes as the most intuitive and suited for my work.

I have creating hundreds of paintings on Brushes over the last few years and I am currently working on a daily series of paintings for exhibition.

Unfortunately in the last week 3 of my original paintings have become corrupted (one by one, the most recent one just minutes ago) and I can't open them getting the error 'Could Not Open Painting There was a problem opening "paintingname"' (screenshot of error msg attached). The paintings are fine when I create them but when I go back to them a few hours or days later they are corrupt. It has not happened to all Brushes files I have created in the last week and I have not seen corruptions in any other app on the ipad. I have not been able to find a reference to a similar issue with Brushes by searching online.

I have started backing up the paintings to the camera roll and backing up the ipad nightly but this is making brushes unusable. I am using a two-year old ipad 3 retina with 64GB storage running IOS 7.04 that has 12GB free storage.

Two of the files I think I should have in iTunes backups but could you please tell me how to recover them as the camera roll versions are not sufficient resolution for exhibition. I prefer not to use online repositories such as icloud or dropbox due to privacy/security concerns.

I'm getting a handful of errors trying to build. I just did a git clone, and haven't touched anything else.

I just got an email suggesting the Brushes Redux integration will soon be stopping, unless changes are made:
"On September 28, 2017, we’ll be making some changes to Dropbox that will likely affect the following 3rd party apps linked to your Dropbox account: Brushes Redux."

I personally use the app all the time and use Dropbox to store my paintings... and even for easy way to move paintings from iPhone to finish off on iPad.

Any developers still interested in helping fix Brushes Redux?

Image frozen/"spinning" Cannot open ANY files or access any controls. Is there a way to reboot on iPad?

The Brushes App on my I Pad is now suddenly frozen. I cannot get any of my presumably saved images in the Gallery section to open - nor can I get back into an image I was building just over a week ago. Everything was working fine and now the App has frozen up. I don't want to think all the work that I created on this App is now lost. Is there a fix or update that can revive matters and regain access to my previously created works? Any help would be much appreciated.

As with Brushes 2, Brushes 3 should have a viewer for the desktop that will provide movie and high-resolution export of Brushes 3 paintings.

I would like to make high quality paintings for a large format prints using Brushes, but the highest resolution is 1536x2048, what is the max resolution I can get and how?

Can someone please help me? I've just updated my iPad to the latest release and now my Brushes app won't let me open any of my files! I have 3 works that are in progress.

I've tried to export the work in .brushes format and thought I could reinstall the app but it's just forever stuck on exporting and won't export .brush format. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Files exported from the old (red icon) version of Brushes won't import correctly, producing nothing but an error. I'm "exporting" by mailing actions, unzipping the gz in Dropbox and selecting to import it in the Dropbox folder. All I get is the "Import Problem" dialog.

Hello, I would really like to request Google Drive be added so that people can upload their paintings to their google drive. This would basically act the same way Dropbox acts now, though not everyone as Dropbox, this just adds another platform that users can store their paintings in the cloud.

Love this app but dunno how to:
a) title the paintings
b) pick colors from the screen

Managed to figure the rest, :). Would love the ability to smudge and blot (ability for the paint to spread and increase in density, as might watercolor and spraypaint).

An up-to-date user manual would be nice.

Will be support for iOS8? There're some errors..

Steps to reproduce:

1. Edit the scheme and change the configuration from Debug to Release
2. Build and run the app
3. Open a painting or create a new one

Result:
The painting appears blank. If it saves, the thumbnail becomes blank.

Notes:
App seems to work fine with Debug builds. Likely an OpenGL issue.

Obviously, this is a showstopper.

Since Dropbox was updated it no longer works in the current version of Brushes Redux. But you can use iCloud which works beautifully.

Message to Brushes Redux developer please update the app so that Dropbox works in this.
