Version 2 of aws-sdk changes the namespace from AWS to Aws. This breaks ec2-blackout. Probably be a good idea to put some version constraints on the gemspec to avoid major upgrades breaking stuff. I'll try and do up a PR when I get some time. For now the workaround is to gem install aws-sdk --version '< 2.0'

Are you able to expand the commands for ec2-blackout off?

I need to be able to only switch on certain instances by tag name.

ec2-blackout off --include-by-tag 'Name=myapp.*'

Thanks for the tool. We need bit of starting order during starting the instance again. Wondering if you can allow selectively turning on based upon tags. Also if allow for re-registring the instances which are part of ELB so that when they come back then ELB can perform health checks again.
We are using it for our staging environment.
