solidity-casino's Introduction

Casino Smart Contract - Solidity-Casino

This is a simple Ethereum smart contract written in Solidity for a hypothetical casino game.

Overview

The contract allows two players to bet ether (ETH) on the outcome of a simple game. Players commit their bets and a hashed secret, and then reveal their bets within a limited time frame. The smart contract ensures fairness and executes the payout to the winner.

Features

  • Commit-Reveal scheme to ensure fairness in players' choices.
  • Bet limits to prevent excessive betting and ensure the contract can cover all bets.
  • Events for logging important contract actions, which facilitates front-end integration and transparency.

How to Play

  1. Two players commit their bets and their hashed secrets.
  2. Once both players have committed, the game starts.
  3. Players must reveal their bets within 3 blocks; otherwise, the game resets.
  4. If both players reveal correctly, the contract determines the winner based on the bets' parity.
  5. The winner receives double their bet amount.

Contract Functions

  • commit(bytes32 secretHash): Commit your bet amount and hashed secret.
  • reveal(uint256 bet, bytes32 secret): Reveal your bet and secret.
  • withdraw(uint256 amount): (Admin) Withdraw funds from the contract.

Security

This contract is for educational purposes and has not been audited. Do not use it in production without proper testing and security audit.

Installation

To deploy this contract, you need to have Truffle or Hardhat set up in your environment.

  1. Compile the contract with truffle compile or hardhat compile.
  2. Deploy to a test network with truffle migrate --network <name> or hardhat run --network <name>.

Future Improvements

  • Integration with Chainlink VRF: For added security and provable fairness, integrating with Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) can provide a secure source of randomness for the game outcome.
  • Time-based Actions: Implementing time-based actions to automatically resolve games if a player fails to reveal their bet in time.
  • Enhanced Front-end Interaction: Developing a user-friendly front-end that interacts with the smart contract, providing a seamless gaming experience.
  • Scalability: Modify the contract to handle more players and potentially create a pool of many games running simultaneously.
  • Improved Betting Logic: Incorporate more complex betting strategies and payout structures to make the game more interesting.
  • Audit and Security: Before going live, the smart contract should undergo a thorough security audit to ensure it's safe for public use.

These improvements would significantly enhance the contract's functionality and security, paving the way for a fair and engaging betting platform.
