fuelux-rails's Issues

Unable to generate files on Windows

Trying to run rails g fuelux:install and I get the following error:

[WARNING] Please install gem 'therubyracer' to use Less.
C:/BitNami/rubystack-1.9.3-16/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/less-2.4.0/lib/less/
java_script/v8_context.rb:2:in `require': cannot load such file -- v8 (LoadError
)

Is there a way around this since therubyracer doesn't work on windows?

Hello i'm trying to use radio but in some reason it doesn't included in fuelux mixin on compile…

License missing from gemspec

RubyGems.org doesn't report a license for your gem. This is because it is not specified in the gemspec of your last release.

via e.g.

  spec.license = 'MIT'
  # or
  spec.licenses = ['MIT', 'GPL-2']

Including a license in your gemspec is an easy way for rubygems.org and other tools to check how your gem is licensed. As you can imagine, scanning your repository for a LICENSE file or parsing the README, and then attempting to identify the license or licenses is much more difficult and more error prone. So, even for projects that already specify a license, including a license in your gemspec is a good practice. See, for example, how rubygems.org uses the gemspec to display the rails gem license.

There is even a License Finder gem to help companies/individuals ensure all gems they use meet their licensing needs. This tool depends on license information being available in the gemspec. This is an important enough issue that even Bundler now generates gems with a default 'MIT' license.

I hope you'll consider specifying a license in your gemspec. If not, please just close the issue with a nice message. In either case, I'll follow up. Thanks for your time!

Appendix:

If you need help choosing a license (sorry, I haven't checked your readme or looked for a license file), GitHub has created a license picker tool. Code without a license specified defaults to 'All rights reserved'-- denying others all rights to use of the code.
Here's a list of the license names I've found and their frequencies

p.s. In case you're wondering how I found you and why I made this issue, it's because I'm collecting stats on gems (I was originally looking for download data) and decided to collect license metadata,too, and make issues for gemspecs not specifying a license as a public service :). See the previous link or my blog post about this project for more information.

Typo in warning message in installation generator

There is a small typo in the install_generators.rb file:
The warning message states that "bootstrap_overrides.css.less" is missing whereby it should be "bootstrap_and_overrides.css.less".
Might lead to confusion for people who run into the issue.

checkbox.less and radio.less failed to load

When I try to import fuelux into my rails app, I found that the checkbox.less and the radio.less didn't load into the application.css.

I try to copy the two files into app/assets/stylesheets, but an error raised by less/less-rails when parsing the statement: url(image-path('form.png')), the message is expect ')' got '(', seems that less don't know the method image-path.

I guess that's the problem why the two files are not loaded, so I open a new issue in less.rb project cowboyd/less.rb#62, the author provides me with some solution.

Then I change the the url(image-path('form.png') to image-url('form.png'), but it still not loaded into application.css, I copy them to app/assets/stylesheets, it works, loaded and no error raised.

I wonder what's the problem with the two files?

Some optimization in lib/generators/fuelux/install_generator.rb

if content.match(/require_tree\s+.\s*$/)
# Good enough - that'll include our Fuel UX js

the comment here is not suite for a gem, require_tree . won't automatic include the assets in gem files, we need to include it in application.js as you say in the last section of readme.md.

So the generator should always add a directive 'require fuelux' to the application.js if there has no one.

Also, I don't know why the fuelux.js does not require fuelux/checkbox and the fuelux/loader?

error 'fuelux.less' wasn't found.

I have been using bootstrap and I tried to install fuelux on top of it,
I did bundle and I ran rails g fuelux:install,
then it inserted "@import 'fuelux.less'; " in bootstrap_and_overrides.less
then I added the line
"//= require fuelux.js" to application.js
and when I reload the page I get this error!
