My log files all seem to show application/core/Log.php as the filename when it should actually be showing the file and path where the error took place.

Can't figure this out. When the Log.php file is added to core
I keep getting an error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'CI_Log' not found in /var/www/public/system/core/Common.php:196

If I change the file to Log_Controller.php and add:
class CI_Log extends CI_Controller
the errors go away, but I'm not sure that this is going to work.

Any advice on getting this setup? Thanks!

I have been trying to get this system to log warnings, notices etc without sending to the stdout

I have error_reporting(E_ALL); in index.php

If I set display_errors = off, nothing is logged except fatal php errors
If I set log_errors = on, errors start going to stdout again

If I set error_reporting(0) nothing is logged

Any ideas?
