Since you have audio interface in SE would it be possible to include audio-record feature to wav file?

At the moment I do voiceover narrations of videos

So I
(a) make srt subtitle file where subtitle location is also timing spots for where I want narration
(b) use audacity srt2label to convert srt to audacity labels
(c) in audacity open the label (old srt) file and record audio at the timespots marked by the labels
then the saved wav file of voiceover narration can be muxed into video along with subtitles

but it would be nice to be able to do both subtitle srt file and voiceover narration wav file
at same time since they ultimately end up at same times in videos

since SE has audio playback features and waveforms display
I wondered if SE could have a button to record audio from a microphone as you record subtitles

does SE have the necessary audio functions defined (imported) and exposed to
be able to make a plugin of this voice-recording

I'd like to pitch you an idea for a plugin.
Basically it would integrate google translate so when you hover over particular word
it would list possible translations of word in a tooltip above hovered/selected word.

If this could be done it would be very useful and a real time saver.

Now, I only work on the translation part, not the technical part with Netflix subs. But I'm pretty sure their 17 chars/sec maximum requirement means 17 chars WITHOUT spaces (and possibly without punctuation marks). I.e. only readable characters - hence the "reading speed":

If I click on space (and I'm not editing a textfield), I expect the waveform-timeline to react. But instead if I clicked previously on a button, this button will be pressed a second time currently. This is especially useless, if the button is something like "Auto br", which will only change something for one time (and a second click doesn't change anything at all). Or if I click on "Play from just before text" and want to stop the cursor on the timeline with space, it will start again from just before the text.
So I would really like to have an option, to keep the focus on the timeline all the time.

The translation mode works fine with Google and Microsoft.
it translates the whole sentence according the knowledge of the translator.

But If would be a Learning mode switch ,o r plug in, then the translation could be not the whole sentence, but words could be translated only and inserted into the original text.
The main reasons:
The machine translated subtitle is useful only who has the language and use it for picking up the unknown word.
So in LL mode more useful to be seen the original text with some inserted translated word.

For example:
HOw that works now:

English:
There's more than one way
to welcome a visitor.

Translation by google in HUngarian:
:Van több módon
üdvözölhetjük a látogatókat.

But in learning mode can be translated only the words not in a list:

There's more than one way [ mód]
to welcome [üdvözölni] a visitor.[látogató].

So this way most of the sentence remain in English, but only the key words that may unknown is translated . So help learning languages.
Maybe the translated word can be colored different way.

The list of not translated file could be in a text file, which can be broaden by the user.

There is some similar feature at ororo.tv but there have to stop the video and click over the unknown word, due to the translation to be shown, but it works only under windows, and not so convenient as the text goes on outside reaction time.

Here is an example of a handmade LL subtitle.
One with html color coded (if the player was set that display the subtitle in Yellow, then the translated words remain White).
The other simle text for the player that do not handle html codes.

I believe it is well known that plugin cannot load external dependencies.

Problem: It is a pain to work with Json files without Newtonsoft. It is quite hard to implement more advanced plugins without relying on external SDK.

Is it possible to merge the functionality of Batch Convert and Spell Check into a Batch Spell Check option? I would like to be able to spell check many files with just one run.

For example, if I have 10 files with the word "hapen" instead of "happen", I have to spell check each file using Change all option in Spell Check (F7) window. This means, for each word with any spelling issue, I would have to do the same task 10 times.

However, with a Batch Spell Check, I would have to do it only once for each word.

I used to code with .NET, so I think this feature would be easy to add. Hope you can help me with this, and I will be glad to help you with beta tests if you need to.

Perhaps, there could be three radio buttons?

• Use built-in list
  (Preselected if the local word list does not exist).
• Use local list
  (Preselected if the local word list exists, and the NoBuiltIn attribute is set to "true").
• Use both lists
  (Preselected if the local word list exists, and the NoBuiltIn attribute is absent or set to "false").

In the case of "Use both lists" the local word list would be applied first, followed by applying the built-in word list, which effectively allows users to overwrite single entries in the list, if desired.

The "Disable built-in" check box would become unnecessary.

I'd like to say, tho, that ispravi.me is not a page for translation, so I'm not sure why it's called translate
It is basically like grammarly but for Croatian language.

• My workflow is: Import video -> import plain text (already separated with line break) -> use the shortcuts to set duration for each line text.
• My shortcuts for adjust is: Set start time, keep duration [Left]; Set end, next start and go to next [Down].
• Problem is: After I press [Down], the duration for each text is 'auto duration', not 'keep duration', which is incorrect most of the time. The long duration applies for short text or long text with short duration that makes the text disappear so quick on the video. For example, with the long text of 20 words but its duration only a few million seconds causing the text disappear very quickly, which is difficult to create sub.

Could anyone tell me how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I think we should change the "Form" type passed in DoAction to "type", the reason is that will allow us to access the member of invoker (Main.cs) via reflection...

I want to write a plugin that will allow modifying the UI content of main-form.
Since "Form' is a superclass of Main we can't access Main.cs member directly.

Also introduce a new method in IPlugin.cs that will execute as soon as the plugin is loaded by SubtitleEdit.exe without needing to be invoked by user action...

the last release of Deepl brought two advances (a more useful error message and somehow the translation now handles " " in the input better (before it it would often neither translate it nor put the original text in the output, but rather something like \")), but it also has a disadvantage: If one encounters the "Too many requests" error, waits for some time and attempts to resume the translation, the plugin actually restarts the process: It ignores the translations already made and starts again from the first subtitle on. The result is that I often run into the same error again and the only way to translate the subs is by splitting the file into smaller parts and process them individually.
