I believe I fixed this.
In the file src/Logic/SubtitleFormats/Ebu.cs
After line 249 : string underlineOff = encoding.GetString(new byte[] { 0x83 });
and before line TextField = TextField.Replace("", italicsOn);
Please add the following:
// If there's only one and it is at the beginning and text ends with , then the whole
// subtitle is in italics, so we put at the beginning of each line.
if (Utilities.CountTagInText(TextField, "") == 1 && TextField.StartsWith("") && TextField.EndsWith(""))
TextField = TextField.Replace(Environment.NewLine, Environment.NewLine + "");
I got the idea by looking at Pac.cs. The exported file was open in Fab Subtitler and it italics where properly formatted.
