I agree with the first problem. However, SE doesn't really remove line breaks; it executes the AutoBreakLine function.
I checked how this works in EzTitles. When moving words between subtitles, line breaks remain in place.
I'm gonna do some tests and try to fix this.

@LeonCheung You can handle this with modify line selection by selecting paragraph which doesn't contains : and press the Auto br

@rebawest Thanks for that! :) I really didn't find a way to disable the auto br function in order to keep current breaks. But I do think the second case is kinda problem, too.

@ivandrofly Thanks for that! Though I don't think that's quite the issue I was trying discuss here :) What I mean is that there should be a way to totally "mute" the auto br thing. However, it doesn't mean that I need no breaks, but to keep the current breaks to stay there.

Yes, Leon, I agree. The Auto Break is absolutely annoying if you a have a correctly segmented subtitle. I have taken two subtitling courses so far and I can't explain how much they insist on segmentation!
As I said, I'm working on the 1st problem you reported (moving words).

I'm thinking about calling AutoBreak only when the resulting line is longer than the maximum length.
I still have to test it thoroughly.

I think what rebawest suggest sounds best - It's actually what I've implemented several places regarding merge/split recently.

First solution, committed. Thanks to everyone. :-)
The second reported problem, it must have been corrected already. Please check again, Leon.

@rebawest @niksedk So far so good! Thanks a lot for the nice improvement! BTW, I wonder if it is possible that this issue can also be pinned down? :) I suddenly found the current Text field in List View cannot allow a single line to have more than 2 breaks (but can do it in Source view). Maybe that why it is not possible to merge 3+ subtitle lines while keeping all breaks? Thanks for checking!
