suggester's Issues

Add a .gitattributes file to the repository

Hello. After looking at the .eslintrc.js configuration file, I noticed that all end-of-line (EOL) breaks should be in LF. This issue recommends the addition of a .gitattributes file to the repository, in order to allow for Git to automatically clone the files with LF line breaks, and more. I hope that this is taken into consideration, as it will make contributing to the repository on Windows systems that use CRLF EOLs way easier.

Selfhosting on public server

Hey there, the readme says "We do not allow people to host their own clone of Suggester publicly or provide support for it."-- does this mean that you don't want it on a public server, or that you don't want people hosting clones of it for other servers? I'm looking into selfhosting this for our server and I'm not sure whether it will be OK. Thanks!

Suggestion editing bug

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Submit a suggestion using the suggest command.

image

  1. Run the edit command to try to edit the suggestion.

image

  1. Approve the suggestion in any way.

  2. Run the edit command to try to edit the suggestion.

image

  1. Mark a status on the suggestion by using the mark command:

As you can see, the suggestion was edited:

However, if you try to edit it again, the bot will give you an error again:

But if you mark another status on the suggestion, the suggestion would edit:

Bug summary: A suggestion edit only takes effect if a staff or admin member marks a status on the suggestion after a user runs the edit command, even if there's already a public status on the suggestion.

Slash Commands

Since slash commands will become mandatory in a few months due to the introduction of a privileged message intent, Suggester needs to be updated to use the new slash command system for all its commands.
