jhud's Issues

Creating the new UI

It is now time to ditch the old UI. I plan on having the same green display as the HUD in an F15 fighter jet and similar HUDs but displaying the relevant information for a car.

Integrating with OBD2

After 4 hours of working to install the necessary dependencies for the OBD2 on the raspberry pi, I am ready to start hooking it up into the main project and new UI.

Motion Sensor Hook Up

Currently, the screen does not change and only displays demo sensor numbers. Next step will be to hook up the motion sensor. The LSM9DS0 is no longer manufactured thus I will be using the next iteration LSM9DS1. I have sodered the wiring necessary now I must update the code to work with the new sensor.

Start to build a HUD

I hope to build a HUD which will emulate the HUD present in the F15 fighter jets and similar HUD in fighter jets. I hope to bring this to my car using the same principles that most cars that come standard with a HUD use as well as implementing the custom available online. In order to make this project, I will need to search the web for a building block.

Old Code Is Not Compatible

While the source project have been a great tool, their old code does not measure up to the current best practices. I will need to look into updating the code and understanding what it is doing.

OBD Data is not displayed

OBD Data is being supplied to the correct variables in the HUD2.py for loop. I need to connect the variables to the pygame display and also deal with any bugs that arise such as the ones when developing the heading bar #4.
