When I launch a Cortana voice search the redirected query has an extra period at the end. It doesn't affect usage, but it would be a nice quality of life fix 😄

Upon refreshing the page, the Additional Settings have been cleared.
Hell, even if you apply them and attempt to use the settings with the window still open, they seem to have done nothing at all.

Not sure if the project is dead or anything, but hey if the issue is here people can at least see it's not just them

In the pile of spear phishing emails I get every day about Chrometana, I managed to miss one that was a sketchy-looking but apparently legitimate complaint from Microsoft about the logo. It's too similar to Cortana's so we need something more unique.

I don't have time to design something right now so if I don't have something by Wednesday I'm just gonna make it a black dot.

I'd love for something tongue-in-cheek, like a bent up paperclip. I'm not picky though. This is open for anyone to submit their designs, so submit away!

An example of what the subject mentions, would be going to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update tab -> Click the link "Learn More" under "Looking for more info on latest updates".

This takes you to a Bing search, where you get a card with info from Microsoft about this. However, with Chrometana, it takes you to a Google search where no such information is presented. This shouldn't happen.

Most of the dependencies are ancient. We should update them and thoroughly test to make sure the updates don't break anything

Today, the plugin required new permissions to reactivate. When activated, going to ANY site resulted in a popup message saying that my computer is infected, and then it redirects the user to

https://chromeupdates.top/s.html (DO NOT CLICK UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING)

Seems to just be a script that doesn't really do much (according to this thread). But still, concerning.

There could be performance benefits to switching to an Event page, although it may be less reliable about abducting search requests made when Chrome is "closed". Worth researching:

Chrometana has been compromised again, and is causing popups to appear, and ads to appear on Google pages.

Going through tickets now, this is a big thing we're missing lol. The ticket:

"The default search site for chinese win 10 system is cn.bing.com, it does not redirect to google. I guess it only redirects www.bing.com. Can fix this? Thx."

Unable to select Apply Only to Cortana Searches because input tag hasn't got id and name attributes

Just today I installed Chrometana on a fresh install of Windows, and when saying "Hey Cortana, open youtube dot com", she simply sends a search to google (nice, it's working in tandem with EdgeReflector so all is good up 'till now) and then types in "open youtube.com" in the search...

Was the open command broken?

When I access the additionnal features and tick the "Enable "Open Website"" box, it doesn't seem to save! I can refresh the page, and it returns to it's default settings...

Any help? :/

New Chrome Web Store update was emailed to me a few weeks back and I didn't pay attention to it at the time. Re-read it a few days ago and realized it pretty directly affects Chrometana. I might have time to go at this this weekend, but I might not, and it needs to be done by August 1st (or we will be removed from the Chrome store...again)

The "fix" is a "prominent notice informing the user of [all] redirection[s]", so a nice javascript injection on every web page with a little "redirected by Chrometana" spit. Shouldn't be too bad.

It appears the links to the blog are all 404, both on github and the extension itself. Is there a new blog URL or was this unintentional? Additionally, do you have any updates on the Chrometana Microsoft Edge Add-on situation?

I habitually have my chrome window resized at about 85% screen size and noticed a Bootstrap issue in on your button.

Obviously this is on Chrometana 2.0.0 in the "Additional Settings"
At 1200px by 706px.

becomes

At 1199px by 706px.

In your Readme, you've stated that Chrometana is broken. I've found an application called EdgeDeflector that will redirect traffic that's supposed to go to Edge to your default browser.
I thought that it would be good if I made you aware of this :)

Both are on the Chrome Web store, and the "Pro" version seems to have a different dev and not be a fork of this. What is it, and what differentiates it from this?

Status is generally broken. This shouldn't be too bad a fix but I've been really busy lately and I suck at javascript

Google recently updated their logo. The Google logo used on the options page is now out-of-date. The new logo can be downloaded on their press page here: http://www.google.com/press/images.html

I use Opera GX as my browser, i tired installing chroometana using the "Install CHrome Extension" for opera but it didn't work so i assume it was compatible. I understand if you're not working on opera at the moment but if you do eventually please let me know!

In the Beta, it seems to work fine redirecting from Cortana's search to Google/DDG/Yahoo as expected
However, with the "Only redirect Cortana searches" option, searching on Bing manually will load the Bing search and then refresh with this Page Not Found result

Chrome extensions with TS are annoying, but not having TS is more annoying IMO

Chrometana is no longer working (installed as Chrome extension). I became aware of this on 05/26/16, but of course, the issue could have arisen before this date without my knowing. Also, when changing the default browser to Firefox, the auto redirect of a Cortana search no longer works.

Currently, there is no equivalent extension for Microsoft Edge.
But Chrome extensions can be ported to run on Microsoft Edge.

Is there any change of a Microsoft Edge version being supported?

I assumed this was one of the nearly infinite phishing emails I get when I received it. Any clever hacks to make our functionality a little more, uh, "apparent" would be appreciated.

An instruction to Cortana in the format "Go To (website)" should go to the website instead of querying the search engine for those words
