There really should be some tests!

When calling rails destroy action_widget:create, all widgets get removed because the directories spec/widgets and app/widgets get removed entirely.

Widgets delegate a lot of method calls to the view context using method_missing. To complement this feature, #respond_to_missing should be implemented in order to allow querying objects for support for certain methods.

The folder should be configurable as well.

I'm wondering if this repository is still active.

Implement the class lookup in a way that it is actually working. Currently, the view helper drops the cache on each lookup.

The generator should use the given name as actual name and not the singular version.

Example:

rails generate action_widget:create Cities
   exist  app/widgets
  create  app/widgets/cities_widget.rb
   exist  spec/widgets
  create  spec/widgets/cities_widget_spec.rb

At the moment, however, the generator does the following:

rails generate action_widget:create Cities
   exist  app/widgets
  create  app/widgets/city_widget.rb
   exist  spec/widgets
  create  spec/widgets/city_widget_spec.rb

Rename action_widget:create to action_widget:widget.

Explain the usage and more important the design decisions and ideas behind action_widget.

Add a command to the middleman CLI that allows for faster creation of new widgets.
