White Noise or Blank Audio only ?

Hi,

I'm trying to run this on my laptop. It is just one 4 conductor audio jack (just like the mobile phones).
I get white noise if I don't connect anything or absolutely nothing when I connect the cable.

I also see these errors on startup..

My /etc/asound.conf looks like this..

}

aplay -l returns..
