Building from source

Ubuntu

Get latest release from GitHub by cloning the repo:
$ git clone https://github.com/tachyons/olam.git
Change to repo directory:
$ cd olam
Create the makefile and build the project:
$ qmake olam.pro
Now install the application, eventually you need to run it with sudo:
$ sudo make install
Run the application:
$ ./olam

Install

Ubuntu

sudo snap install olam

Windows

Download olam-setup.exe from the release page

Rename project

This is not an official olam project. So this project need to renamed to avoid the confusion.

Configure appveyor to generate statically linked executable for windows

Intallation via snap does not add app entry

System details:

OS version: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS
App version: v1.2.151+git3.2d4a009

Problem:

After installing the app from snap using sudo snap install olam, there is no application entry created in the list.
However the app can be launched through olam via command line

Expected behavior:

There is an app icon which can be used to open the app directly from the launcher list

Specify license for dictionary and corpus file

Support common typos

Eg,

അദ്ധ്യാപകൻ and അധ്യാപകൻ should return same result

Add build instructions in readme

Release script for uploading Osx artifacts

This project is using appveyor to upload windows binaries to github release, But the CI we use for osx build do not have built in support for uploading artifacts to Github releases, So we need to write a script to do that. More details here
