I recently upgraded my host system to Ubuntu 13.10 which uses now PHP 5.5.3.
When starting TCExam i get now following warning:

"mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead | LINE: 64 | FILE: /home/mm/var/www/tcexam_11_3_012/shared/code/tce_db_dal_mysql.php"

BTW: I use TCExam 11 but if I checked correctly, the newest release still uses the old mysql extensions and not the recommended mysqli or PDO.

It may happen that a student has done in the past several examinations through tcexam.
After a student has logged in, the student sees a page with all the examinations carried out by the student.
I wish that the student could see only the list of exams that can support at that precise moment.
is it possible?

I have just upgraded to the latest version (12.1.010). When I try to create a PDF I get the following error:
ERROR: [2] file_get_contents(/xxxxx/cache/xxx.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory | LINE: 2804 | FILE: /home1/xxxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/xxxxx/shared/tcpdf/include/tcpdf_static.php.

The jpg files are on the server and in the right location, I can also see the test on the screen including the pics.

I searched the issues and I could not find nothing related to this issue.

Test result does not show the amount of time the student spent for the exam. This shows the total examination time. The link is this:

Note: Have the administrative part this is entirely correct. Even the PDF.

Define three options in tce_config.php for brute force protection:

1.how many seconds to lock login system;
2.after how many unsuccessful login attempts to lock system;
3.ON/OFF switch for brute force protection

My students are in a same wireless network, and appear to have the same IP address according to TCEXAM. This creates problems as the inability to login users on the same network, if someone before them has turned on brute force protection!

First of all, I'm really very very happy with TCExam - it's a great tool and many thanks for it!!

Just a minor suggestion:

When entering tests an jumping between different views/tasks like
module > questions ; module > list ; test > result ; etc. etc.

it would be nice if in admin mode the test selection would be put in mind and not always reset back to module "default" and theme "+" when selecting another view/task.

But perhaps it is not easy to implement...

We are running TCExam ver. 7.0.015 on a virtual machine running CentOS 2.6.18-128.1.6.e15.

We recently deployed an Exchange 2010 server in our Exchange 2003 environment. Upon doing so, we stopped receiving email notifiers to the exam admin. We have been trying to locate the issue, and have so far been unsuccessful. To make matters worse now when someone selects the Finish button for the exam they are taking, their webpage goes white/blank and never gives them the test results. While trying to figure out the Exchange issue, we have been very careful not to change any settings in the PHP code without being able to change it back. Really we have only changed minor settings like To and From email addresses and then we tried a few different combinations of FQDN of the Exchange servers trying to get the email flow back. Also, I have been trying a few different settings on the Exchange 2010 server which is now our primary email server. I have created a Receive connector for the TCExam server and have been trying out a few different combinations of Authentication and Permission Groups. I would really like to get this machine back up and running at full capacity for our test admin and would appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Issues I found while testing tcexam

1. while registering a new user, the mini calendar beside the date of birth entry doesnt work..it just do nothing after clicking it.
2. after creating a new user, this is displayed on the next page:
   ERROR: [1452]: Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (exam.tce_usrgroups, CONSTRAINT tce_usrgroups_ibfk_2 FOREIGN KEY (usrgrp_group_id) REFERENCES tce_user_groups (group_id) ON DELETE CASCADE ON UPDATE NO ACTION)
   but, the user is correctly added
3. when giving an exam and results are displayed to the user, there is a pdf button at the end of the page...when clicking that button, a new page opens but noting happen there...its simply a white page

Hello. I´m using TCExam 11.4.002 and I have a test with 100 questions. The full questions set is about 1000. Everything works ok but when I click "Execute" it takes almost 40 seconds to show me the questions (having 5 concurrent students makes the server crash).

Mysql logs the query as a very slow one. The query is:

If I cut off "ORDER BY RAND()" from tce_functions_test.ph then the Execute takes just 5 seconds.

Is there any other option for getting random records?. Should I set Mysql engine with particular options?.

I had this before but I cannot remember how I solved it. After I enter my username and password it jumps right back to the same page, where I need to reenter both of them before getting access.

It started happening after I upgraded from 11.. to 12...

when i log in from a client computer on an intranet network... the client system shows cannot find server... i have to go back and click authenticate.

Observation
on the client system, the link is 192.168.0.100/tcexam but when i login it becomes localhost/tcexam.

On the version 11, i had the same problem but there is a file i edited and i removed some code from a file....the code removed was something like....... .$SERVER

Add module for conspectus of exams on public page with test listing. Make it with time options like tests:

Add all supported BBCodes for text formating in the conspectus text field.

I am wondering is there any way which will block one user from loging in from 2 locations same time.
Currently if user logged in from one booth , same user credential can be used in another booth. Both can contribute each other for the test.
Basically I am looking for something which will stop user from taking same test from different locations same time.

I installed it according the instruction. I configured LDAP authentication, created my vbs script to export users from AD to XML file, set up scheduled task for vbs script. But unfortunately, I cannot find any tool which can import XML file to TCExam automatically. Do you plan to include this useful feature in the next version? Or could you please advice how can I do it?

Add the possibility of sending a mass email to the entire user group or a specific user with or without attachments. The contents of the letter to be freely edited by the user with rights over fifth level.

Is there a way to show when the last login of a user was? It's great that one can tell who's online immediately, but is there a way to show when a user last logged into the system? Or could this feature be enabled an easier way?

Since I upgraded from Release tcexam_11_3_012 to Release 12.1 i have performance issues:
the students doing exams have sometimes remarkable longer response times and in admin mode it takes reproducible about 6 sec when I browse through the test results of a class of 20 people, whereas it takes less then 1/3 sec when using the older 11.3 release.
In both cases I tested with the exactly same database and the response time on 12.1 is independent of using the (new) MYSQL or (old) MYSQLDEPRECATED database interface.
There are no errors reported neither in the apache nor in the mysql error log.

Is there an option to create a two-or more column OMR answer sheet? If I'm using an exam with only two-four choices, the remaining area seem to be wasted.

Also, it is possible to include page breaks for questions? Some of the choices for questions are off-sheet. It makes it a little more difficult to read.

In the past I have done the exams with 600 students. When I select these types of tests to see the test result summary, it happens that the server takes a long time and some times the server does not return anything.
I think that the problem is that the server "tcexam" must do statistical analysis of the examination and create the chart.

It would be possible to get the test results summary, with only the table of the results of the students, without statistical tables and graphs?

1. How the OMR evaluation will identify which user has submitted the OMR answer sheet?

There are 4 more similar errors.

Rumor has it, there might be a space somewhere early in the program that should not be there. A repair of this nature is beyond my training.

Hopefully this can be addressed in some future update.

I am newbie in tcexam. I am using tcexam 12.

I could insert audio file such as mp3 in the question but unfortunately I still have a problem in video file. I have tried insert mp4, mov, flv, swf or avi. but it doesn't work.

is there any special configuration to solve that problem?

Congratulations for the excellent TCExam software!
Last year I had TCExam installed on a local server and everything worked well.
This year I have hosted TCExam software on a hosting service. Now all my students are seen by TCExam with the same public IP of the school. Up to 5 users connected, everything works fine, but when more than 5 students try to log in, they have the message "incorrect password" and they can't access. In this case on the "online users" list appear some errors and a lot of names like (- [bbb65f4t]).
I suppose this is caused by the same IP address of each student... Is there any option to configure?
