lockon's Issues

Lock On Doesn't Work in 1.18.2

Forge: 40.1.84
Minecraft Version: 1.18.2

I can't get the lock on to work. I have adjusted keybinds and fixed overlapping keybinds. I saw that 1.19 got a fix "Don't register null keybindings". Is it possible to port the fix to 1.18 as well? Cuz as of right now it's completely non-functional :/ Many thanks!

Request: Improved compatibility with Socolio's Better Third Person

Currently, when locking onto a target with Better Third Person active, the mods interact surprising well while clicking with BTP's aimPlayerOnInteract setting enabled. However if you're not attacking or with the setting off, the camera gets prone to spinning erratically or responds to the movement keys as though following the head; it seems as though it can't seem to decide where the center of aim is. Improving this to, ideally, completely disable lock on's influence on camera movement and only aim the player while locked on would be a massive improvement to both mods' usability in third person combat.
Demonstration of current behavior: https://medal.tv/games/minecraft/clips/1cxtOiQnCycmcC
If you think this would be more easily implemented on BTP's side, please let me know so I can promptly (politely) bug them instead about it.

[Issue] Lock-on is unpredictable when multiple valid targets are available.

MC Version: 1.20.1
Loader: Fabric
Loader Version: 0.15.11
Mod version: 1.0.1

Issue: When using the lock-on key when multiple enemies are nearby, its difficult to predict which target will be selected, which makes it very difficult to make use of when in a crowd of enemies. This issue is lessened when you lower the lock-on range, but this is not ideal as it both limits the player to only locking on to nearby enemies, and also does not fully solve the issue.

Expected behavior: The lock-on should select whichever mob fits the critera of both being the closest to the players cursor, and then the closest to the player. I.e. the mod should check to see what mob the player is looking at, and then prioritize that mob, and then if two mobs share the same proximity to the cursor, it should check to see which is closer to the player physically.
