I'd like that the player paused itself when the earphones are removed, and also optionally to automatically resume on connection.

It should be easy as listening to ACTION_HEADSET_PLUG, but I'm new to android dev, anyway I'm downloading the sdk to propose a patch =)

Today I left the server open (paused) and it drained a third of the battery capacity (according to Android app info)

I really expect that idling results on little power usage, maybe the server could (optionally) be paused while the phone is locked if the player is stopped or paused.

Doesn't start with 6.0. My device is a Xiaomi Mi4 and I am using AOSP Marshmallow.

I'm looking for a way to do this. I think mpd is a great app for old and otherwise unused devices since they have wifi, audio output, and low power usage. Plug it into any old stereo and now it's a wifi stereo. So it would be great to extend back compatibility as far as it can go.

Anyway, if there is a relevant config parameter for output plugins that someone with experience working in this code knows about about, any info or assistance is appreciated. Otherwise I'm sure I will work it out.
