Leaving the alias setup in home.nix doesn't result in an alias being created on subsequent terminal sessions, unless adding a bash, zsh or fish etc shell that is managed by Nix.

The alias points to the specific version in nix store alias reload-home-manager-config=home-manager switch --flake /nix/store/<hash>-source, hence any changes to the nix files in your git repo will not be picked up by running this alias. Was this intentional?

The behaviour I would have expected by reading the README.md in this repo was that it would apply the latest version of whatever had changed in the nix files...

My solution would be to ensure the alias references the base directory in which the flake.nix resides...

EDIT: This is on a vanilla mac os installation running Ventura and a fresh Nix 2.12.0 installation.
