Currently, using kbhit and getch results in severe lag on both DOSBox and real hardware. So slow it's actually slower than rendering 3D graphics! A proper solution must be sought.

Allow for specifying a list of textures instead of only a bitmap

Allow each level to have it's own tile palette
For making the levels more varied and vivid, having each level with it's own palette of tiles would be better.

whenever there is a tile that's raised above the normal height or sunken beneath it, the camera will remain at the ground level, despite the internal entity being located into the special tile.

The underlying tile will change to the one representing the item - thus, turning grass to stone and vice-versa.

currently, the game animations only seem to look right on 640x480. It should look good, regardless of the screen resolution and orientation.

Everything now looks so flat. The dynamic lightning had to be disabled early in development due to it being too costly. Now, I want it back!

This is the last holdout of STL in the code back - get rid of it!

While some of the sounds are distorted, others sound just fine. Seems to be a sampling rate issue.

Apple platforms would be impossible, but others are well within the realm of possibilities.

It still thinks the camera is in another rotation when in fact it was forced into a certain rotation.

As you shoot arrows into walls, there is no visual feedback other than the reload animation and the ammunition depletion. A "smoke puff" or something like this would be desirable.
