mpc-livexplore-bootstrap's Issues

How to successfully boot into the Force OS

Just checking the boxes on what are the prerequisites and steps to actually boot into the Force OS from the chroot image?

I wrote the image to an SD card, put it in the MPC (Live 1) slot and powered it up but it booted into the normal MPC OS. I have the latest SSH image installed on the MPC, but I seem to be missing a step here.

RTP Midi, Troubles getting started

I am having trouble getting rtp midi running on my MPC Live.

I updated the MPC system using the ssh update images.
I have started with the Simple bootstrap image from a usb stick. It contains the tkgl_bootstrap[ProjectData] directory.
I have modified the TKGL_DOER parameter at the bottomg of the dort_list file to include rtpmidid and nomoreazmidi.

If I include the playlogo module in the list, I see the logo animation playing on startup. If I dont include it, I dont see the animation. So that is indicating that things are working in general.

From my computer, if I run avahi-browse --all then I see:

wlp113s0 IPv4 B0-F1-EC-FF-9B-74-0001-MPC-Live-- _inmusic-device._tcp local

and nothing indicating that rtp midi is running.

How could I check if there are any errors starting the rtp midi service. Am I missing some step?

rtpmidid unsupported overlay

I seem to have mounted the bootstrap image successfully, however rtpmidi never actually seems to be active, other modules load fine, play logo etc. It looks like something to do with the overlay as far as I can tell?

Device: MPC One
Firmware: 2.11.2

Here is some log info:

Jul 26 01:24:12 mpc-one kernel: overlayfs: filesystem on '/media/TKGL/tkgl_bootstrap_[ProjectData]/modules/mod_rtpmidid/etc/overlay' not supported Jul 26 01:24:12 mpc-one az01-launch-MPC[986]: mount: /etc: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on overlay, missing codepage or helper program, or other error. Any ideas what's happening here?

IamForce sdcard sandbox : initial feedback (from Jay Ray-One)

(From Jay Ray-One)
Here is some initial feedback:

  1. On the MPC-X the splashscreen 'Force' image is flipped upside down. We had the same problem with hakai so we made one especially for the X.

  2. I believe that this 3.1.3. image runs in a sandboxed enviroment so it's not possible to load projects from the internal SSD or even from external drives.

  3. The available space for projects is limited. So copying over more than 4GB+ of projects to the stick is not possible because there is a limit even tough you use an 128GB stick.

Either way good job so far..!!

I just wondering

I'm having a problem where the main button on my Mpc one has suddenly stopped working, the switch itself appears to be ok.
So I was wondering if a hidden "mapping" file could have got corrupt, have you come across such a file in your good work.

External controller vs. Modal GUI interface

Can you confirm the operation with the external controller modules (anyctrl and anyctrl-lt)?

Are you confined to using functions current shown in the GUI/Screen, or can you access functions which aren't showing (ie track/pad mutes regardless of screen mode)?

Bonus question - if you are crazy enough to loop a cable from Midi out -> Midi in, can the MPC sequence itself? Maybe this is a way to 'improve' the looper in a live performance.

iamforce unable to mount /etc and /var

Hi I have updated 2.11.8 to 2.11.10.
I am now trying the iamforce after installing the 2.11.8 ssh image.

When booting with the iamforce bootloader card in I get the force logo and the kikgen animation flashes up many times however i dont ever get to a booted force.

on further investigation

  • playlogo can get stuck in a loop

when running tkgl_mod_iamforce.sh after hang
