Great question. I used to be a huge fan of The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind, though I'm not sure if I'm still as much a fanboy of it anymore.
I don't read a lot of fiction, though I am a huge fan of Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality by Eliezer Yudkowsky. Though technically a fanfic, it remixes the stories of JK Rowling in a creative and consistent manner, and is a super interesting read. As much as I cling to rational thought, it was nice to read a piece of fiction that I related to on an intellectual level.
I'm currently reading A God that Could be Real by Nancy Ellen Abrams, wife of Joel R. Primack, is one of the creators of the theory of cold dark matter. It's a super fun read.
