training's Issues

[Basic Infantry] Initial Setup Requirements

This is the most important course to get right, and to look sleek, snazzy and organised. This is one of their first impressions, and 99.9% of the time a first impression of how operations flow.

Generally speaking the flow will be lecture area first, learn about a subject, then go practice it - go back to the lecture area, rinse and repeat.

Lecture Area

  • Interactive presentation, giving visual demonstrations of many of the principles that aren't easy to cover with low turnout (formations, section breakdown etc.), plus some core helpful slides - put images in @twc_config, to reduce mission size
  • Ability to spawn the members of the section next to the board on their appropriate slide (if we go that route)
  • Some basic information on operations, as most of the time they're not clued up at this point
  • Not too far from the starting location, preferably walking
  • Possibly make some sign posts to point people to the course direction? quite frequently we'll have one that connects in later and this would be less intrusive on the lesson

Firing Range

  • A reasonable firing range, to practice both calling out targets (make a trainer capability to pop them up, preferably a fixed sequence) and fire rates
  • An ammo crate that allows the trainees to quickly change between the section load-outs - can import gear from the config dynamically, to keep it consistent, ace interact or something akin

AT Firing Range

  • A place to practice our AT SOP
  • A short re-spawn system, ideally to prevent the cook-off from interrupting other/rest of the lessons

"Parade" Grounds

  • A place to practice movement speeds
  • A place to practice formations
  • A system to spawn AI in all the various formations, so they can get a good hands on the formations with low turnout

Manoeuvre Area

  • Logical area to practice bounding, maybe with some distance markers and a visible target to fire at (compound, or w/e)
  • Logical area to practice peeling, probably into some sort of cover from that same target

Grenade Range

  • Small area to practice advanced throwing (over walls, in through windows etc.) and the SOP for grenades

[IDF/FAC] Initial Setup Requirements

  • Box with 60 + 81 mm equipment (all round types) with a vehicle they can be loaded into to move to other fire points
    -open area range
  • 343 radio to simulate comms between C/S
  • Box with spot scopes, map tools, ctabs, SOFLAM and laser designator, 152's

[Sniper Team] Initial Setup Requirements

I found a spot on the western side of Chapoi that suits the requirements of a sniper range rather nicely, here's a link to a mission file with target placement, made with no mods or units: https://www.dropbox.com/s/00y6qj1q9v4ioxh/snipertrainingpositions.Malden.7z?dl=0

Either use the merge function or use it as reference, I've put in targets where I want them at the required orientations with a generic ammo box where the sniper box would be. We won't need the shooting sheds as previous, we'll just use the woodland to make it a bit more similar to ops. Other requirements:

  • 10* "U_B_FullGhillie_sard" added to the ammo box

  • 10* "ACE_RangeCard" added to the ammo box

  • 3* land rover unarmed woodland at the shooting position, either on the side of the road or in the woodland.

[Medical] Initial Setup Requirements

  • Medical box with sufficient supplies (existing suffices)
  • Medical Resupply Crate
  • Ambulance, MERT vehicle, Medical Tent, Medical Facility
  • A lecture area for theory
  • Medical trainee slots that are set to medics

[Force Type Familiarisation] Initial Setup Requirements

This course needs to be spread out over the map, to give hands on with the various vehicles, and to apply what's been taught in a time efficient but also engaging manner.

Can recycle some of the other course areas, to keep the object count low. For example, armoured infantry could use the same armour from the armour course area.

  1. Motorised Area
    • Traditional Motorised
    • Traditional Motorised (Variants - Millennial Snatch, Modern WMIK)
    • Lightly Protected Mobility
    • Heavily Protected Mobility
    • Area to practice stopping properly
    • Area to practice urban navigation & obstacle crossing w/ vehicle
    • Lastly, a pretty direct route to the next part of the course
  2. Amphibious Assault
    • Traditional Amphibious
    • RHIB
    • Mk 10/5 LVCP
    • Area to practice soft landing
    • Area at the next part of the course to practice hard landing
  3. Mechanised and Armoured Infantry
    • FV432 & Bulldog
    • FV510 Warrior & FV510 Warrior w/ Slat
    • Area to practice both breaching styles
    • Lastly, a pretty direct route to the next part of the course
  4. Air Assault and Air Mobility
    • Puma
    • Wildcat
    • Chinook
    • Interactive board to display the different dismount procedures
    • A quick walk away from the next part of the course
  5. Airborne
    • Hercules
    • Unit captured flight path, so we can practice the drop and rendezvous
