hello-github-actions's Introduction

Hi there! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm Holger.

I'm learning, experimenting, and working with web technologies since the early 2000s.

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป Currently, I'm Lead Researcher and Software Engineer at datavisyn. Together with my team I develop novel visual analysis tools for cancer research, drug discovery, and other application areas using web technologies and frameworks such as React, Redux, and Fast API.

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ I'm also teaching Interaction Design, Usability Engineering, and Interactive Data Visualization with D3 at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg, Austria. I enjoy well designed products that are easy to use and data visualization that scales.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“ I finished my PhD at the Institute for Computer Graphics at Johannes Kepler University in 2019. My scientific areas of interest include visualization and visual analytics of multi-attribute and temporal data. I'm still co-authoring papers with other researchers from academia on projects to create new visualization and visual analytics approaches that can improve our products in a later stage. You can find a list of my publications on my Google Scholar profile.

If you would like to know more about me and my work, take a look around here on GitHub or connect with me on LinkedIn or Twitter.

Welcome

This course helps you create a simple action and use that action in a workflow.

There are parts of this course which will need to be completed locally, using the command line. During those steps, more instructions are provided in case you're used to working with the GitHub.com interface directly.

Note: This course will only work for members of the GitHub Actions limited public beta.

GitHub Actions is currently in limited public beta and is subject to change. We strongly recommend that you do not use this feature for high-value workflows and content during the beta period. For more information, see "About GitHub Actions."
