Pb with spaces in Accountname about alexa-remote-control HOT 4 CLOSED

I just tried with the non-plain version (had to rename my device to "echo something") and it worked right away.
You are using -d 'echo something', aren't you?

OK, I tried both :( Works for me (regardless if I use the non-plain or plain) version.

I tried Debian Sretch on RaspberryPi, Debian Jessie on PPC and Ubuntu on Windows (WSL).
Sorry, I am out of ideas...

In the end it's a simple "jq" parsing of the device list.
Here is what you could try:
jq --arg device "your Alexa device name" -r '.devices[] | select(.accountName == $device) | .serialNumber'/tmp/.alexa.devicelist.json

If that doesn't return the DeviceSerialNumber, then it's a problem with "jq".
