psmoveserviceex-virtual-device-manager's Issues

Weird controller tracking

I have set up the PS move controllers using the debug config tool and calibrated them using the A4 pose method. I can actually play VR games now, however, even though the config tool shows that the colors are tracked correctly, and the test pose window showing that the positions are good (except for the rotation, more on that later), the controllers often glitch in games. Although that isn't my main concern.

My main concern is that the controllers seem to be really hard to setup correctly. One issue that is persistent is that the tool thinks that when the controller is standing up, it points forward. So when I point the controller forward, it points downwards in game (seems like roll is 90 degrees offset). I have no idea how to change it.

Another random thing that only happened just now (after several retries of calibrating and re-setting up) is that when I move the controllers up, they move down. The controllers are also really close to my body and one of them is inverted (although I can fix that by holding the options button). Is there a reliable way to fix all of these issues?

How accurate is XYZ tracking and hand rotation?

Hi, I am looking to potentially get PS Move controllers for a creative coding project where I will control an image with my hands, those remotes looks very appropriate. I'm not too familiar with how they work, it looks like the depth perception is achieved through a 3D camera and some maths to compare the colored orbs. If I'm understanding correctly, you have re-implemented the logic that takes the camera images and calculates these positions? Do you know how accurate this is, i.e can it pick up slight movements at the centimeter scale for all 3 axes? And I assume the origin of the position is the camera? And the polling rate, 60hz or more I hope?

Thanks!

Idea: VRChat OSC

Would be nice to add support for VRChat OSC as full body trackers as an option instead of SteamVR. This could be used for Quest standalone users and ppl with slow CPU. PSMS is taking a fair bit of recources. Would be nice to leverage that using diffrent pc and sending that thru VRChat OSC.

"Invalid cast" error while installing SteamVR Driver

While installing SteamVR Driver on a fresh Windows 11 system, on pressing "Register driver" a window pops up with "Invalid cast" error. I fixed the error by installing iVRy SteamVR driver and running it once.
I think the problem is with present but empty "external_drivers".

Thank you for your continuation of PSMoveService!

How can i adjust controller offsets?

The controllers are showing way above of my head, so i was trying to set the offset but i can't find any option for that.
Like Driver4VR that has an offset option, where you can move X, Z or Y in real time of the virtual controllers that are on the SteamVR

Display Error

I've connected two PS motion controllers aswell as PSVR headset. They show up and light up when PSMoveServiceEx is started. However, SteamVR does not recognize it, and it shows this in Playstation VR Management:
image

Upon fresh installing of the drivers it says I need to configure it, but no matter if I use direct or virtual mode it gives this error after configuring.

Might be unrelated, but I have the second HDMI cable of the VR box connected to the laptop (where PSMSE-VDM runs) and the other HDMI cable is not used. If I try the other HDMI on the VR box, it doesn't recognize it so I'm guessing it's not important (plugging it into a secondary laptop does nothing either and doesn't fix the issue), and I think it may be unrelevant but I wanted to say it anyways.

Display is in extend mode and when I move my mouse over there it does eat it up, so I don't know why it doesn't work. I'm pretty sure I'm also using AMD graphics but didn't confirm except for a property in system information.

Playstation VR Management showing USB Driver Issues as not data transmitted

I discovered PSMoveServiceEx recently and found that it was a good way to replace Trinus PSVR to make my PSVR1-v2 work on my PC.
However, I may be missing some step on VDM the install, since it shows no data is being sent to the USB cable after installing the VDM driver for PSVR HMD as shown below:

image

The extended display is shown in the HMD as a virtual screen, even after VMD driver install, but no stereoscopic output is shown.

I am using Windows 10 22H2, and VDM version 13.3.6.0.

VMD Debug Exceptions:

nintendo joy-cons support

Hello, it would be nice to add support for both joy-cons (left and right) with the led balls to use it like a real psmove controllers.

One of the controllers takes over tracking of the other

When i wanna play, and i set up VDM, most of the times, both controllers end up connected, i never understood why this happens but it does, usually restarting the software fixes it.

Here's a screenshots of the driver:

This is on steamvr Home so its more clear whats happening:

Both are configured correcly, they are tracked separately but in the driver, they are tracked in the same position, buttons and trackpad are separated for each controller, its just the tracking and rotation whats wrong.
