Spike Flyway for database deployment
Spike the Flyway database deployment tool for automating SQL database deployments.
For the unified order API, we expect to be implementing some code which requires SQL. We would like to automate our SQL database deployments and structure migrations.
The MCP Commerce B2B squad is using Flyway as a database migration tool. As one of the deepest users of SQL RDBMS within Cimpress, we have confidence in their evaluation of Flyway. Their squad lead agreed that we might find this tool useful -- providing us with enough clout to proceed with a spike.

- Example of a successful migration.
- Example of a failed migration.
- Example of a 'repeatable' migration.
- Present learnings to Tribe, spreading knowledge.
