It's probably preferable that the buffer is allocated outside of the driver. This would give more control to users but not sure how important/useful it would really be.

For example, some methods only make sense being called after init has been called. It is possible to enforce that these methods are only called after init by doing something similar to https://gitlab.com/jspngh/rfid-rs

If possible, use a dedicated partition for image in inkscape_image example.
This should allow faster re-flashing when making changes to the code.

AB1024-EGA takes quite a long time to refresh the whole display.

Amongst the freely available information that I have access to, I haven't found anything that gives a solid indication one way or the other that partial updates are not supported. It would be nice to know definitively though. If it is possible to implement partial updates, it'd be nice to do so.
