Similar to what the long-tap now does, it would be useful to have the colon when the completed nick is at the start of the line, please.
When inserting an emote into the BerryTube app using the BerryMotes gallery the BerryTube app effectively kicks you back to a login screen. Issue stops happening after phone is rebooted.
This only occurs if your phone has been on a while.
There are no error logs or crash reports I could discern.
can't login with the new version of the app from either my Nexus 5 nor Nexus 9 trying different accounts.
Is there any kind of logging I can/should enable that might help identify the cause?
Currently the app just closed. It would be better to handle this "gracefully" and show a message to the user that he was kicked and refresh the notification accordingly.
this is an effort to stop with the random people that find and use the app and show up on the site. Cades and Q0 asked for this in chat just now, so I'm filing the issue on their behalf.
When I have my TF101 Android tablet's physical keyboard attached, it works fine bbut I can't send messages, enter key does not work.
Implementing colored text (so it picks it up from BT), or even making a propriety tagging within the app to mark "NSFW" as red.
when someone sends me a message, it would be nice to have an easier way to respond to them.
Ideally, let me tap (or long tap) on a message in the list of chat messages in order to reply to that person (can act like the BT interface nick completion, adding "TheirUsername: " if no text already entered or "TheirUsername " if there is some existing text)
If that's problematic, at least allow it when the message squeed me (although I'd prefer the former since many times people don't prefix messages even when they're directed at a particular person)
Thanks!
Server messages
msg = {
emote: "server",
metadata: {},
msg: "foo bar baz",
nick: "server"
}
Other message fields are missing!
currently the main BT site lists usernames sorted in a case-insensitive fashion, but they're sorted in a case-sensitive way in the BT chat app, which is less intuitive for most users.
currently there's no easy way (AFAICT) to have a link open in an incognito window instead of a normal one. while having a long-touch context menu open on the link is one option, I'm not sure if that's easily doable or not, and might conflict with the long-touch mechanism. In many cases (like amazon links), it's nice to have it open incognito just to keep it from affecting the 'recently viewed items' set as well.
I have not seen a way to clear the highlights someone received, it would be good functionality to be able to do so.
A common operation for people (myself included) is sharing links via the app (imgur, YouTube, etc). Currently this means doing a share in the relevant app, copy to clipboard, switch to chat app, optionally prefixing someone's name, then pasting. If the chat app could register as a share target, this could be simplified.
This will make it match the web interface behavior and enables being able to do things like "rarity animated" being able to find an emote that I knew had rarity in it and was animated. :)
I don't remember what it looked like in 1.4 but it looks broken somehow now. Maybe it's just a missing space? Not sure.
having to switch over to the Berrymotes Gallery app to search for an emote, then copy its code to the clipboard, then switch back and paste it is unfortunate. Having an integrated emote search would be awesome.
Prevent unregistered accounts from chatting. This will cut down on spam and \facebook users that have no idea what's going on.
Hey Trellmor,
I love the Berrytube app, great way to stay in touch with all the tubers while up and about.
Is there any way to implement a custom squee feature? It would be really useful so I get squeed with custom usernames (like the ones I got set up on my desktop and whatnot).
Just filing this from my nexus 5 - tried the link by itself and with other things on the line, all caused "connection lost" and the message didn't send
When activity is put into background and reopened through any means (other then the recently used apps menu), it brings you back to the login prompt. Going through the recently used apps menu brings up chat like normal.
When I get a squee, there's a nice notification that comes from the app, and if I catch it fast enough, I can switch back to the chat app and see the original message in the scrollback. However, the original message is usually longer than can fit in one notification line and is truncated (with ellipsis). If it's been too long since the message came in (so it's not available in the current scrollback buffer), then AFAICT there's no way to tell what the original message was (outside of the first few words that fit on the one line).
Here's me from the BT main interface sending a too-long message to me on the chat app (while the chat app isn't active), and the resulting truncated notification.
