I'm using this set of scripts to keep my apache/linux reverse proxy certs valid, though I'm not using docker.

I've recently had a couple issues with freeDNS.

First, probably the most common issue others may have, my apache/linux connects to the internet through a VPN. While I keep FreeDNS ACL updated with the current IP my ISP assigns, the VPN IP was not allowed (nor do I want to allow it). I had to run /app/entrypoint.sh manually in order to see the actual error, as certbot would only show the "_acme-challenge doesnt match" error.

Second, and I'm still working on this, FreeDNS reports the error "Found double quotes without a space in your TXT record - you should place a space between the quoted sections." Not sure how this happened - still looking into it.

If it's possible, you might want to consider exposing the FreeDNS errors in the HTML returned from curl. If it helps, FreeDNS errors will always have the <TITLE>Problems!</TITLE> tag, with the actual error being exposed by the HTML table code:
