on my remote there a button to switch between mouse mode and arrow key functions, look around in settings to assign key to mode change.

That would be a good option, also when using a gamepad it would be nice for it to work as intended and not actually control the mouse pointer on the screen and the "A button" or "B button", not to act as select or back buttons in the browser itself..., I'd rather prefer to use it to control the progressive web app itself...
