Great, thanks for helping to fix this issue!
About your questions:

  1. they change dynamically - some default items are shown first, but as you browse, they are replaced by the most frequently used sites. This behavior is currently not user configurable (but it is in future plans).
  2. Currently there are no way to disable webrtc, sorry. I even dont know how to disable it in webview.

Thank you @My-ThrowAwayAccount for this research!
PROTECTED_MEDIA_ID is not android standard permission - it is WebView internal permission.
Please check this build if you have free time:

There is some small fix for drm support, I hope this will help.

Well, that was quick... I've installed the latest version and behold, it works! So this issue can be closed, I'd ask the opener of #115 if this solves their problem, too.

I have a couple more questions about the browser, I can open another issue if that works better for you

  1. Can I change the items on the home page (Wikipedia, Twitter, YouTube, etc...)?
  2. Is there any way to disable WebRTC? I'm not quite sure this is the reason but some geo-restricted websites still know I'm outside of their bounds even when I have a VPN on. Granted, I'm experiencing the same issue on Amazon Silk and the native applications for said services so I don't know if it's WebRTC or not - all I know is that the same services work fine using the same vpn on my other devices

Thank you, about point two I figured it's most probably not a WebRTC leak but maybe the browser not using the VPN for the video streams as the app/website interface are updated as if I were allowed but only when loading the video will I be presented with an error stream that replaces the content (i.e. a video saying "This content is georestricted" rather than the video playback of the content itself) - this is probably not something that can be fixed within the browser, since webview is its rendering engine and that's probably at fault.

Thank you for your help and the really fast DRM fix! I will be closing the issue
