Can you help me understand how the code works so I can help update it for further versions of minecraft?
Not asking you to do it yourselves, just teach me so I can do it.

Had just opened a world, full hunger, tried eating a vegetable from Pam's and my game crashed.

I'm using Forge 14.23.5.2820 on Minecraft 1.12.2, AppleCore 3.2.0, and Oversaturation 1.0, as you can see in the log.

Every time one of the players on my server changes dimension (nether portal, teleport, etc), their hunger is immediately reset to a fixed value (usually full hunger bar and around 6 points of saturation).

Our server has vertically stacked overworld and skyblock, so people change dimension often. This means that any food eaten over 3 shanks of saturation is wasted whenever you switch maps, and some players have learned they no longer need to eat as long as they step through once in a while.

Seems to be that right-clicking any edible food, even when you cannot eat it, causes the crash.

The only mod I have included that uses AppleCore is Spice of Life: Carrot Edition. Disabling those prevents the crash in question as does disabling your mod but leaving them enabled.

I believe you forgot to do something. ;)
