githubcalendar's Introduction

A Rainmeter skin that displays your GitHub contribution calendar on your desktop

version

  DESCRIPTION:

This skin features a C# program, which collectively uses Selenium Webdriver and phantomJS to gather the data from the user's GitHub profile and writes it to the "data.txt" file. The data is then read by the Lua script, which provides the necessary information to the GitHubCalendar skin.
The skin now also includes a second variant, featuring a more condensed layout and displays only the current weeks contributions.

In Progress:

  • Improve optimization of the update processes.
  • Add mutable scaling functionality to calendar.

  SETUP:

  • This skin requires that you have  Rainmeter installed.
  • Open the .rmskin package file to install, configure, and load the skin.
  • Enter your GitHub username into the newly opened Configuration window and press 'Enter'.
  • Then press the  button to load your GitHub Contribution Calendar.
  • Enjoy!

Note: To update the skin's calendar data, left-click the in the bottom-right corner of the skin.

githubcalendar's Issues

Crash On Initial Setup, Then Fine...

Hung rainmeter after entering my username and clicking the green button. Upon restarting rainmeter everything seems great, thanks for building this. Win10 64

Skin must be refreshed twice for updated calendar to be displayed

After updating the skin data, the skin must be refreshed twice for the updated contribution calendar to be displayed. Nevertheless, this issue shouldn't otherwise effect the performance of the skin.
I'll be looking in to this issue within the next few days, although I expect it to be due to an issue with the skin's lua script.

Calendar having trouble displaying correct data on Sundays

The calendar seems to be messed up attempting to display the current weeks data on Sundays, but then returns to normal on Monday.
I believe this is another result of the changes made to GitHub profiles earlier this month. I will be looking into this further, so it should be fixed within the next few days.
