sicp-kindle's Issues

certain gif images rendered in negative

the tree parse diagram at Figure 1.1, and some formulae in other chapters, are rendered negative (or obscured in some other way, I'm not sure yet) so they're not legible.

Better quality images are available

Some of the images used are quite poor. For example this one: http://mitpress.mit.edu/sicp/full-text/book/ch1-Z-G-2.gif
There are actually better quality versions available on the MIT site. So that one is available like this: http://mitpress.mit.edu/sicp/full-text/sicp/book/img3.gif

It looks like some work has been done to replace the transparent backgrounds with white, so it won't be just a simple matter of dropping the new graphics in place of the old. I might have a go at this if I have the time...

No paragraph breaks

I notice that in a recent commit, you removed paragraph indents because "Kindle does it by default". Not on my Kindle! I've put your .mobi file (thank you for this, BTW!) on my Kindle and there is no distinction between paragraphs -- no space, and no line indent. This definitely makes it harder to read.

Perhaps if indents are an issue you could add a small padding-bottom to paragraphs so there's a gap?

Cannot open the mobi on Mac

For some reason neither Kindle for Mac nor Clearview can open the mobi. It's fine on "real" Kindles though.

I'm assuming this is releated to some Mac-ism.

Trying to download the mobi package fails

Firstly, thanks for doing this.

I tried to download the mobi package by clicking on the 'downloads' link and selecting it, but I got an Access Denied error.

Srdjan

Neither Calibre nor Kindle support the mobi file.

I downloaded and imported sicp.mobi in Calibre, which fails with some kind of significant error. My Kindle 3rd Ed. complains as well. Any clue? Thank you guys for the conversion by the way.
