You might try a post-compile hook (make a bin/post_compile
) that installs pylibmc (using how the buildpack does it as a template).
If that doesn't work, you can always fork the buildpack and do whatever the heck you like.
[That said I'm not entirely sure why you feel the need to have a single codebase that runs on every single PaaS without changes. I think that's a bit of a pipe dream. Were it me, I'd simply have different branches that encapsulate the differences. That keeps each codebase much simpler, and also lets you do cool things like diff between Heroku and Gondor and see what the differences look like.)
