gw2specs's Issues

CombatMode shortcuts

Resetting CombatMode to reset/change some settings can be a pain in the ass thus we need shortcuts for basic functions

DPI Scaling Bug

If windows DPI scaling is different than 100% the tool will not work properly. Fix is to update project to qT 5.6

(Current 5.5)

update for new versions

Update function to check if a new version.is available and if so ask the user to download it.

Since there are many improvements to be madr would be best to let users update instead of downloading newest file manually

Hosted JS server

Hey,

As we discussed in the game, and earlier in the other repository (https://github.com/Tyrox92/DPS_Server/issues/1), I have been working on a JavaScript implementation of the server.

We figured that the best way to combine our efforts would be to speak together about where we want to go.

Why going with an hosted version

  • it's not easy, and not convenient to host the server at home, because the port forwarding thing is not something obvious for most people
  • it can be self-hosted, and anyone can offer it as a service
  • we could even package it with something like node-webkit, so it's still usable as an .exe for people who want that

The next step

My idea is to have the summary available in the browser, rather than having a big fat UI directly in the game. Summary would be the dps value, the variation (+/-%) and graph comparing the last try, the best try and the current try. My focus is on individual willing to improve their DPS, not ranking people and risking a "shame and blame" effect.
Right now it only displays the summary of the try and the comparison with the previous try in a very raw manner.
I had to put together an "end of try" detection, which is a bit tricky (and clunky).

What is missing is a room management, to have the server hosts multiple raids at the same time.

Following Kozzy's work, my server is no longer compatible. I'm all for keeping up with the latest changes, but I'd preferer if we all go in the same direction.
I don't know what should be done exactly, maybe agreeing on a protocol spec could be a good start.

Cheers!

Linux Server Issue

libQt5Network.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory when trying to execute gw2specs_server. The library is clearly in the same directory.

New OBS Mode

New OBS mode works only upon restarting the Tool. It needs an immediate switch between versions on configurator checkbox click

Redraw/Rebuild widget could be the answer...

Contact from Arnaud

I installed dps_server.exe under a dedicated server I own with wine, and it works.

But I have issues when a party member disconnects, when he connects again, we see his name twice ... that's weird.

Hey I have received the following message everytime i start the DPS meter:

"The ordinal 4369 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\iCLS Client\ssleay32.dll"

I'm running windows 10 64 bit
GW2 64Bit

Any ideas?

Feature Requests

Hey, great release! I have two possible feature requests.

1.) When I attempt to display the DPS meter on OBS with Window Capture, it's blacked out. See example.

2.) I remember you guys mentioning the ability to use small interface / font in the future. Is this still being worked on?

Thanks again for the new DPS meter. It looks amazing!

Suggestion: Option for always on top

Between release 2.3 and 2.4, the Qt:WindowStaysOnTopHint was removed from line 14 of configurator.cpp, which now reads:

this->setWindowFlags(Qt::FramelessWindowHint | Qt::Dialog);

I don't know enough about Qt to know why this was done, but it might be good to add this back as an option if possible.

Find someone to make Linux/Mac versions

After hours of failing, creating a runnable Linux / Mac version for systems without Qt installed (shared libraries) we need to find someone that is capable of compiling Linux and Mac Versions..

I love your meter, fantastic work. My only gripe is that it's almost unusable with action camera. Because action camera just hides your cursor rather than getting rid of it, at some point during a raid encounter I will unwittingly move the mouse over the meter, click it, and drag it into the middle of the screen. I've had the meter cause a couple of wipes because myself or others in my party have done this at inopportune times. If there was some way to just minimize it completely so that players would have to deliberately click it to move it that would go a long way in making it usable for action camera players.
