chromium-freeworld's Issues

Not requiring u2f-hidraw-policy

The Fedora version of chromium installs u2f-hidraw-policy, while chromium-freeworld does not. I'm not sure if that's simply a matter of the require being missing from the RPM, or if the feature also needs to be enabled when building chromium. Either way, it'd be great if chromium-freeworld could support U2F tokens as well as chrome and chromium do.

WM Class for Chromium is not correct

On the chromium-freeworld.desktop file, we have:

StartupWMClass=Chromium

The correct WMClass for Chromium should be Chromium-browser. You can verify with the xprop utility on a chromium window.

chromium-freeworld for fc29 is crazy slow

I have been suffering with chromium-freeworld on Fedora 29 since upgrading to Fedora 29. I don't know what it is about that build that makes it so slow. Extensions are slow to draw, connection lag, and cpu usage is way up. I run a profiles for work and personal. I use Slack and WhatsApp through chromium. All that makes it crawl. Moving Slack and WhatsApp to Chrome helped, but it was still bad. I downgraded to the fc28 build, and it seems to be better. Also chrome of the same version seems fine.

65.0.3325.181-2 fails to render over ssh tunnel

Upgraded chromium-freeworld to 65.0.3325.181-2 on Fedora 27. Running chromium-freeworld from terminal with ssh connection draws the window frame but is unable to render anything within it. After a minute, a "Page Unresponsive" window launches with the same problem.

Rendering had previously worked fine including OpenGL support. X server is running on Ubuntu 16.04 with no changes between working and updated non-working chromium-freeworld.

Fedora 27 to 28 upgrade gives "Aw, Snap!" for all pages

Upgraded Fedora 27 to 28. Opening chromium-freeworld gave "Aw, Snap!" for all pages opened.
Moved the profile (.config/chromium) and launched with the same result. Literally all pages - even the blank page and chrome:// pages give the same result.
