Currently jgit commit signing doesn't support GPG keys with no password protection (548763). Once it does, we will be able to use clj-jgit to make commits rather than shelling out to the git cli. More info: clj-jgit/clj-jgit#64 (comment)

E.g. when updating nuid.ethereum-registration.lambda/process-registrations, the :exclusions key on the nuid/datomic coordinate is dropped.

deps.tools/update!ing repositories with multiple deps.edn files is still a bit tricky.

currently, the default behavior will deps.tools.git/add all the files from the repo's root directory instead of from the individual :local/root of the nested deps.edn file.

the latter should only deps.tools.git/add the specified file-patterns _from the :local/root of the deps.config.edn entry. this would make the default case (adding .) apply much more frequently, requiring less manual entry during deps.tools/update! (and deps.tools/plan).
