Any notices about terms, things missing, whose property the photos are, and the sort should be added to options.

best suggestion so far has been to show it on hover

Like instagram does so weird cutoffs don't happen.

Is there any way to use Instatab to see a longer feed of your Instagram? Mine seems to be limited to about a page-worth of photos updates. If there's not a way currently, is there any chance you'll add it?

Use total counter to show popup on new tabs for updates, only up 10 times.

Also, save dismiss when user clicks this popup.

Possibly use Outbound to do this.
