Is there a particular reason you chose to use -> instead of => for the arrow (e.g. ambiguity)?
Most popular languages use the => operator (JavaScript, C#). There's also an RFC for PHP that also suggests using the => operator.

Additionally, single parameters are often not required to be wrapped in parenthesis.

Are you planning on creating a pull request for the official Symfony repo? If so, I think this would be the most intuitive syntax for most users.

I'm still unsure about which operator to use - having initially opted for the one often used in mathematics (->), but also in C++11 and Java.

However, it seems that quite a few languages use the => (eg; C#, Hack) and others planning to use this (ES6, PHP)

With this in mind, it would be useful if the component user would have the ability to select the operator of choice.
