dota-2's Issues

Main Menu Lag (Mac)

Cant click anything without clicking multiple times or even start a game, I get 1-2 fps in the main menu.

[Linux] GUI Unresponsive and Corupt

The gui appears very different from what is intended. Many of the widgets were not shown until they were moused over. Mousing over is the only reliable way to interact with the interface, clicking does nothing, although repeated double clicks did bring up the "Heroes" tab. The game is running in borderless windowed mode on a 5:4 screen with the launch options -console -exec autoexec.cfg -width 1280 -height 800. I do not have an autoexec for reborn at the moment, and the exec is for dota2.

[Linux] Voids/Chasms not being cleared properly

This is only really noticeable on the hero testing map and - most likely - any custom games that use chasms.

Here's a picture from my GTX 570 desktop:

And here's my Intel HD Graphics 4400 laptop:

i cant launch the game as it crashes on the inital loading screen. trying verifying the game files. will post the result asap.Normal dota client works smoothly
Edit: nope, it didnt work. still crashes on loading screen.and i also found out several reddit users having the same problem. is there anything i can help fixing it?

[Linux] Custom Games: The lobby you specified no longer exists.

When I try to join a custom game lobby I get the "The lobby you specified no longer exists." error. This happens for any lobby, even if I have just refreshed the list.

However, I am able to create a lobby and people are able to join it. Most of them are filled within seconds and start automatically.

Edit: I just realized that maybe the issue is that the lobbies are filled too fast and thus don't exist any more. But I'm positive that I'm seeing some of the same lobbies after refreshing but can't join them.

[Linux]No 3D Rendering with Intel HD 4000 and Mesa

All 2D game ui and layout and hero selection works fine.
However, no 3D models are rendered, in hero preview/selection/loadout, etc.
In a match, the whole screen goes purple and white. The only working part is minimap and hero skill/item bar.

Confirmed on 2 systems:

  1. Gentoo Linux 64bit, Intel HD4000 with mesa 10.5.4/10.5.6
  2. Archlinux 64bit, Intel HD3000 with mesa 10.5.5

Custom Game Doesnt Launch

I've installed overthrow and have tried matchmaking and creating my own private game and the loading screen comes up for overthrow but then the game force closes down.

On Debian Testing 64bit.

Edit for more information
I'm running i3 window manager with a GTX 550 ti with no problems on legacy dota.
I've tried running it with MATE with no difference.

[Linux] Modifier keys such as Alt perform actions which minimize the game.

This issue was reported originally here and still exists in the Reborn beta.

Modifier keys, such as the Windows/Super key or more importantly the Alt key, are no longer prevented from performing actions on the desktop that cause the game to minimize. Those keys in particular open parts of the Ubuntu dashboard, which causes the game to minimize.

Prior to the April 23rd patch and the test client build modifier keys could be bound and used in game with no issue (such as windows/super for stop). After these updates, the game is minimized any time a key is capable of interacting with the Ubuntu dashboard.

[LINUX] Client fails to load bundled libpangoft-1.0.so

When I try to start the new reborn client it errors out with:
Plat_GetProcAddresses: unable to load 'libpangoft2-1.0.so'

I have pango version 1.36.8 installed on my system (both 32 and 64 bit versions) so I thought I might be able to workaround this by simply renaming the bundled lib. It worked in somewhat because it now successfully loads the system pango libs. However it segfaults now instead.

I don't really know why it doesn't manage to load the bundled lib but I guess there is something special with it? Otherwise you wouldn't have bundled it with the client, right? And yes, I have tried to validate the game cache to see if there were any corrupt files.

This is the (some what useless?) gdb output:

[Linux] Corrupted HUD

Hi,

I launched Reborn, which was fine, I went to demo a hero to see what in-game is like, and came across a corrupted HUD. Mostly everything is black.
In original Dota 2 I was using the diretide HUD, so I don't know if it is trying to use the same HUD in reborn as well.

I'm using the great fcitx for input method handling, unfortunately dota2reborn ignores it completely not allowing me to type in anything but english (it does seem to respect keyboard layout though). It also ignores my xmodmap'ped keys.

Game crashes to desktop when trying to demo hero or play bot game

I downloaded the Reborn beta and installed with no issues. Hero browser, armory, etc. all work fine. When I try to demo a hero or launch a bot game, it crashes to desktop.

I have removed my autoexec.cfg, tried fullscreen vs. borderless window, etc. but nothing makes a difference. I tried it from big picture mode with the same result.

Dota 2 6.84 continues to work flawlessly, just a problem with Reborn.

[LINUX] Reborn Starts up on wrong monitor

It seems that Dota 2 - Reborn doesn't use the main monitor initially, original Dota 2 works correctly.
I had to change to bordered window, move to the primary screen and then re-enable full screen.
It would be nice to choose what display to use in a multi display setup.

My setup is mint 17.1 with Cinnamon as as my windows manager.

OS X - Crash on launch

After installing Reborn, it launched once and then crashed once I went to view a replay. Upon relaunch, I get an instant crash when beginning to render the UI. I have tried with "Automatic Graphics Switching" Enabled and Disabled with the same result. Also of note, I am running OS X 10.11

AZERTY keyboard keys 1(&)/2(é)/3(")/.../0(à) trouble

Hi,

Keys are not working properly because they bind it to the special character associated with the key but not all special character works.

For example : "2" associated with "é" doesn't work, I can't bind any action on it. This is a bit annoying because I guess many people use it as Item shortcut.

Mac: Fullscreen Mode Disables Global Shortcuts

Accessing dota trough fullscreen disables the ability to navigate between programs (CMD+TAB) or to take Screenshots (CMD+SHIFT+4) and possibly disables any global shortcuts assigned to the CMD key or any other key. I'm not sure if this is intended behaviour or if it's a bug, since this isn't how it functioned on the main client. However, this is a feature other games have but usually they come with an option to disable or enable global shortcuts and there is none in Dota Reborn.

[OpenGL] Green Screen

The first frame or so when starting the game up using the OpenGL renderer shows a very quick but out-of-place green screen. It does this on Windows as well.

[Linux] Only black screen with Intel Iris Graphics 5100

While the Dota 2 original works fine.

My system : Linux Mint 17.2 on Asus Zenbook UX301LA (Intel Iris Graphics 5100).

Game doesn't start

First, there's no "Play reborn" button on the source 1 client.

If I try to launch it directly from Steam, I get a error message saying it didn't find the executable. Looking at the game/ directory inside the dota dir, it's actually missing the binaries.

Linux: Steam overlay flickering

Shift-tabbing into steam overlay is making the whole screen flicker, going from white, gray, blue to green and probably other colors. You can make out some of the icons, and the border of the windows between flashes, but it is mostly unusable

The bug is only happening when shift-tabbing in the menu screens BEFORE loading a game. After I demoed a hero the issue went away. I could access steam overlay while demoing the hero, and again without issues from the menu screens after quitting the demo. (I can reproduce this behavior systematically)

I caught a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/tvgklaM.jpg

I am running Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon.
