chroscreen's Issues

No xrandr on Chromeos?

Can you help me understand this? I am trying to run it on my chromebook, and I find that there is no xrandr executable.

  1. I open a developer console by hitting Ctrl+Alt+T
  2. I enter shell to start GNU bash
  3. I try to execute ./chroscreen
  4. I get an error: bash: xrandr: command not found

Gamma curve isn't truncated

xrandr --gamma doesn't truncate the gamma curve, that's why pure colors stay the same, which is bad when we don't want blue light.
A solution would be to change the CscMatrix, but my chromebook (Acer Chromebook 13) doesn't support it (it's using xrandr 1.3.5, I can't find when CscMatrix was added to xrandr but I guess it's later).

Constraints:

  • only Bourne Shell, no bash (sadly, the Chrome OS shell does not use bash)
  • no bc for arithmetic (again, not installed on Chrome OS), that's why I used awk.

If anyone knows how to do it or has a suggestion, even changing completely the way of doing it (like for instance dropping xrandr for gamma correction), please go ahead.
