i also think that this should be reworked because its a double serialization, its based on parser combinator which tends to be slower, and honestly i haven't seen any serious use of scala.util.parsing.JSON.
+1 a thin wrapper around o.v.j.core.json

Yeah, let's use the Vert.x core JSON library for the time being, at least until we've found a way to do the same in a way that performs well with the Scala library.
